Going to try hard to take a trip to CA to see the home opener vs the Rangers with my dad to see the banner being raised.

It's a lot better than it was 15 or so years ago, nothing too terrible. The arena is in Chinatown, which is close to the White House and the Mall if you want to do any sightseeing while you're here. Unless you go deep into Southeast or Columbia Heights you'll be fine.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that Weber loses votes due to the fact that he and Chara are similar players. Then again none of the 3 had extremely standout years, and so Karlsson's point totals are something that you can look at as an outlier.

You can walk from the mall to the Verizon Center without getting stabbed, so it's a decent area. Plus, Clyde's Gallery Place is next to the Verizon Center, and players often go there after games, FYI.

Be warned that you may see a dead homeless guy though while walking around. I saw this past weekend at Freedom Plaza.
