And shit just fucking completely fell apart again; holy fuck I hate my love for hockey. Check LeBrun / Friedman / Michael Russo's recent tweets from today's meetings which just ended.

The PA is demanding they get a full season's salary for this year regardless of how many games they play, which is fucking stupid. Even Larry Brooks who is the most pro-PA person ever said:

"Told that PA proposed that players get last year's share plus 5 pct this yr regardless of schedule length/actual revenue...Last year's share was 1.883B...plus 5 pct would be $1.977B...would likely eat 65-67 pct of revenue in 66-68 game season."

Like no fucking chance that happens. The current NHL offer is pretty fucking good:

EDIT: Read that Michael Russo article I linked above. He is not pro-PA or owner and just reading that makes me want to cane the PA. Just fucking take the deal.

I feel bad for the Jagr's and Selanne's in all of this. Signing 1 year deals to keep playing, and then this happens. By the time this shit gets sorted out, Connor McDavid's first NHL game will break Gordie Howe's record for the oldest player to ever lace em up for an NHL contest.

While I agree that it's better then the last few deals the league is still doing all the taking. It's like saying, "Well we're still getting fucked but at least they aren't raw dogging us in the pooper without lube anymore."

Also I'd wait to see the real details of the leagues offer. The last one they made sounded good at first too.

Yeah, the first offer was obscenely bad before the season, but this is pretty reasonable. You knew by the NFL and NBA precedent that 50/50 was a given; the PA is just trying to salvage as much as they can before going quietly into the night on the revenue sharing.

The major downside to V-city. It's sunny here (that's good actually) and as a result, outdoor ice rinks do not exist in this city.

I'm not a hockey fan, seems like Hockey fans in general are distinct, looking in from the outside. In other words a really passionate Hockey fan isn't also a passionate basketball fan. Maybe I just don't know any hockey fans? Anyway, I came to offer sympathy. I know how crappy I felt when the NBA was locked out. I hope you get hockey back soon, but chose less games over a compressed season if you get a choice. Compressed season is just more injuries...no fun.

Hope this works out quick for you guys.

Welp, I know what I'm doing after my shift is over at noon.

Some neighbors are already starting their backyard rinks going lol. Hope the local community center can get the rinks going ASAP so I can lace up.

I love snow, so I'm cool with it (shoveling just sucks). I remember the blizzard we got back in the 90s. Exact same view as the picture from the living room, but there was so much the bottom half of the window was blocked lol. I remember just throwing on my snow suit and literally swimming across the lawn. Was awesome.
