Oh I forgot to mention because of the time after with some alcohol consumption:
"Mr.Ladd (yeah I said Mr, gotta know when to be formal, like a true gentlemen!) a buddy misses you Chicago."
"Oh yeah? Tell him thanks and sorry."

Awesome, Bluefan! :D
*single tear*
That is awesome, and man, do I miss him too. Just like the rest of the guys we had to get rid of, but especially him and Madden. And Burish.
Brad Richards and up to a half-dozen of his Ranger teammates will be on the ice to lead a pair of youth hockey clinics Friday afternoon in Staten Island for a fundraiser dedicated to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Captain Ryan Callahan, Marian Gaborik, Dan Girardi, Marc Staal, Brian Boyle, Carl Hagelin and Steve Eminger are expected to join Richards at the Staten Island Skating Pavilion (3080 Arthur Kill Road; 718-948-4800) for a pair of one-hour sessions beginning at 3:30.
The donation is $75. Proceeds will go to victims of the superstorm through the Cardinal Egan Fund.
Registration for the event is available at [email protected].
TSN reshowing 2002 Gold Medal game Canada vs. USA. Fleury was such a great player. Funny to hear them say Kariya. Lol.
You look at the 2010 teams and think how stacked the big teams were, and then you look at the 2002 teams and it amazing how much more stacked they were then that. I mean yeah, some players are debatable, but man oh man, Olympic hockey is always so fucking good. Better then any All-star game
Iggy and Sakic were a beastmode Duo in that gold medal game too, so fun to watch
I met someone once who said it wasn't fair that NHL athletes are in - it should be for amateurs. Or whatever. Took me a grand total of 30s to convince him otherwise - The simple fact is the Olympics can deliver what no Pro Bowl or All Star Game can give you. It's a game with the best players in the world, going full-bore, with plenty on the line.
My favourites were Lemieux's faked shot, letting the puck continue through him to a wide open Kariya in the circle. Such a selfless, pro play... and the goalie bit on it hard. That, and Yzerman's hookup with young-Iginla, from Sakic in the 3rd. Cross-rink pass straight into Iginla's wheelhouse - he gets so much heat on it, the rebound goes through the goalie.
Ahh... memories.
Just poking in to say Hi. Still hurting from the lockout![]()
My GF and I had that discussion last Olympics, but it started in 2010 with the hockey and got brought up again in the summer Olympics. She still thinks it should be back to how it started - a gathering of the World's best amateur athletes. Which I can see her point, but once Barcelona happened and the "Dream Team" with basketball took place, it opened the door for pros in various sports.
I argue for it. I mean, it's to the point where in a competition like that, you wanna see any country's BEST overall. While it sucks that Bill Jones from Hickville Alberta isn't going to make the Hockey roster, who would we rather see: Him or John Tavares?
Which at this point, what even governs a "professional" athlete? Is it someone who gets paid to play? Someone who signed an endorsement deal? Someone who plays in an organised league? From sport-to-sport, the definition can vary, so fuck it - bring on the Iginlas, the Crosbys, the Ovechkins for the Olympics.
The Olympics are for the best athletes in the world. It's not even an argument; yes pro players should be able to play.
All talks cease between PA and NHL.
Oh hey did you know that the only team in the NHL not to make the playoffs between the lockouts is the Toronto Maple Leafs? Yes even the Blue Jackets made it once.
I still think JF Jr. was a moron?
W/e, if we ever get back to playing - and it looks like we won't - I'm much happier with the current team. We have a shot.
A LASTING LEGACY
You know who won't make the playoffs this year? The Oilers.
But I won't feel too bad, neither will the other 29 teams.

Well so much for getting a deal before American Thanksgiving. Something would have to happen pretty damn fast for it to get done in the next week from the way it's sounding. I still think a deal will get done because really how the fuck are they going to scrub a season over the shit they're arguing over?
I've gotten super apathetic about the NHL, asides from yous guys/gals I listen to the Marek vs Wysh podcast and check twitter but have no other NHL in my life and I'm finding I don't miss it as much as maybe I should. I wonder how many others are going to feel this way when/if it comes back.
