I've gotten super apathetic about the NHL, asides from yous guys/gals I listen to the Marek vs Wysh podcast and check twitter but have no other NHL in my life and I'm finding I don't miss it as much as maybe I should. I wonder how many others are going to feel this way when/if it comes back.

My opinions regarding hockey have not changed despite the shittiness of the situation. As soon as this ends, I'm going to overdose hard on hackey. And I think Steve / Bill talk tomorrow afternoon informally on phone, make some progress, meetings get scheduled for Mon-Wed, and deal in principle or major progress announced by Wed night. Optimism go!

Which is code for we're canceling the season, since the fine folks at TSN reported on Twitter earlier this week, that if a deal wasn't reached by next week, there was a very good chance the NHL cancels another month of games, if not the whole thing.

Does cancelling of games even really mean much? I mean its not like if a deal is made, they would just pick up the season with where it was canceled up to.

I don't get why they need a 2 week break, these are fucking NHL owners and NHL players, what in the fuck else could they be doing? Get your shit together and meet at least 3x a week for several hours and get this shit done. Love Hockey but the people who run it on both sides are some of the dumbest in sports apparently.

Funny how they're all trying to maximize profits but apparently can't seem to figure out that they're not making shit right now, and when they finally do decide it's okay to lace up and fucking play again, a good portion of their fans will have told them to fuck off.

They want to make money, this is not a good way to do it. I know I'm not buying a single fucking ticket this year, if the season does come back. They can kiss my ass.

I would like to say I won't buy tickets this year just out of spite, but I love hockey and my Hawks way too much to actually follow through on that threat. I know as soon as the season is back on, I'm gonna be on Stubhub and Ticketmaster trying to find tickets.

If the season starts again I am likely not going to go to any games. I'll just send the money I would have spent directly to Henrik Lundqvist. He can buy a new coffee mug for his amazing car or something.

Season ticket holders are the ones getting hosed the most. This fucking blows and NHL/NHLPA are fucking retarded. I don't think next week will be doomsday though. When the last season got scrubbed, they waited till February for that. I'd say if by Christmas it's not resolved, then you can hit the Armageddon button.

In 04-05, the league locked out the players for the full season to get what they wanted. The mission was accomplished.

Same as I feel, but I'm going through with it I think. I'll watch on TV but no tickets/jerseys for all of 2012-13. If they cancel the whole season, maybe '13-14 as well.

The two week moratorium is about 90% NHL posturing to induce the PA to tender an offer. How do I know? Because of the flurry of public statements made yesterday by Daly. Any time they go into posture / bullshit mode, they release a lot of info publicly. When they are actually doing work, everything is radio silent to the press. I would bet $5 that they have substantial talks or a meeting pre-US Thanksgiving.
