And we'll toss in Fehr as an extra.

Look i love Staal and all but he's not a top center. I'd rather see him moved to 2nd line center and have Geno on wing, but that's me.
I was about to say how he'll never be a 30 goal scorer and how that's bad or something and then i remembered Forsberg never had a 30 goal season, but he at least was an assist machine.
It's obvious he wants to move on and i wish him all the luck but moving on to greener pastures never really works out how you envision.
Maybe a team will pull a Miami Heat and sign Staal, Nash and Parise lol?
Or maybe Ryan?
This is why I think we need to trade him ASAP. Look, I'm sure another year of having Staal would be worth more than what we could get for him this season, but if Pittsburgh is bitten by the injury bug again and he goes down -- and we all know he's not re-signing here -- we're fucked at the trade deadline.
I'll give Pitt
Dubinsky, Erixon and our 1st rounders for 2013 and 2014 for Staal and a 7th(bonus round, only round Rangers draft well in etc)
Highly doubt either team trades within the Division.
It's genuinely surprising that Staal would tank his own trade value by saying he would sign an extension with the Canes. Just all around surprising conduct from what seemed like a pretty good kid. Now, fuck him. Trade his ass to Columbus for a bundle of sticks and a case of beer.
I honestly was just discussing this on Facebook, its become the new go-to move for GMs for troublesome players and/or moves to "shake up" a team, between Letestu and Jack Johnson both being traded their to get their teams out of a slump and Carter being sent there from Philly.
I hope Pittsburgh winds up suffering Habs Syndrome from Staal if you let him walk:
He's gonna get 3 pts every game against you guys for the next 4 years.
K, I've always wondered this:
When a player has a no trade clause, and then gives their team a list of "I'll go here, here, oh God not Edmonton, here and there." as their list, do they have the final say AFTER a deal is in the making, or before it's in the works? Because it'd be funny if Jordan was like "Hell yeah, I'll go to Carolina!" then trade him for his brother like "Awwww, how's that family reunion working for y... oh riiiight."
Flyers traded Brobovski to the Jackets vs 3 Draft picks
Wings sign Swiss A League leading scorer Damien Brunner to a 2-way deal.
Guessing he will not make the Wings, and be an injury call-up for most of the year.
Draft party tonight!
Time to bromance it up with Bogo and Stuart.
Video footage of who the Canucks should draft if theyre serious about getting tougher.
From my understanding, it really depends on the clause. A lot of them are modified so that players HAVE to give either 10 teams they will go to or 10 teams they'll never go to or something like that, and I would assume that that's the last say they have if a GM were to make a trade to an acceptable team. If it's a straight-up no movement clause which doesn't have any stipulations like a list of teams or something like that, then any trades the GM wants to make, the player has the final say on whether they will lift the clause for that particular trade or not
Oh ok. I always wondered that. Cuz if I was Pittsburgh, I'd pull the spite move like that. (Get him to waive for Carolina, and then try and deal Staal for Staal. Then be like "Oops, guess you're not playing with your bro after all. :D") it'd never work out that way, but it would be hilarious to see his reaction.
However, if they get the final say after a potential deal is done, then they may as well be their own GM in a sense.
90 minutes til the draft! If Edmonton takes Ryan Murray, I'd hope TSN zooms in on Columbus' phone to see how busy it gets. Since I doubt Columbus would take Yakupov at #2 since their luck with Russians has been pretty bad. Or who knows, Edmonton could brain fart and trade #1 overall to NYR for the rights to Wade Redden. LOL
