I feel bad for the various employees for these teams - from the training staff, to the concession staff that have been laid off or hours cut back.
Fuck the millionaire owners/players/commissioners/arbitrators/agents/puckbunny hookers etc at this point.
Just because as much as we're watching this, and getting upset that the game we love is gone, they're feeling the rollercoaster even worse wondering if/when they'll get their job back, assuming they haven't already said fuck this shit and moved on to somewhere else.

After watching the Bettman conference he brings some very valid points to the table. Donald Fehr has continuously changed what the so called key elements were that the NHLPA needed to get things done. I hate Bettman and Fehr but after yesterday I'm firmly back in the owner's corner. As long as Fehr is running things on the PA's side there will be no season. He still seems to think that Bettman will not blow up the season in order to get these concessions. The PA isn't going to get much more from the NHL. I'm shocked that the owners were willing to give on as much as they did(which admittedly still isn't a ton.)

I really think the PA needs to step back and examine what's going on with Donald Fehr in charge of these negotiations.

Still on the players side; if the owners drop 5yr contract term limits and the players still don't make a deal, then I'm on the owners side. Still don't know how owners think they can get that aspect into the CBA.

I used to be super pro player but after listening to Bettmans press conference you can see that he actually looked upset / pissed off which is something you dont normally see. Im starting to side with the owners based on the owners moving pretty close to what the players want on the "make whole" and pensions. I think its pretty greedy by the players to want more then a 5yr deal (7 with own club). Only about 10-15% of the players in the leauge are on deals that are longer then 5 years and some are just over the 5 years but they remained with the clubs. I prefer the shorter contract length beacuse if you have anything more then 5 years you can play like shit for the first half then when its time to renew your contract you can actually try. I dont know how many times ive seen players sign those big contracts then all of a sudden play like ass for 2-3 years, (Vanek) 40+ goal scorer signs big contract can barely get over 30 now haha.
