Really? didn't think someone at 30 spot would be NHL ready.

Reports are Michalek for Yandle.
He was passed over in two drafts I believe they said.

Pitt has dealt Z. Michalek to Phx in exchange for prospect Harrison Ruopp plus a 3rd-round pick this year (81st) and goalie Marc Cheverie.
Yeah, just read that, hes almost 20 so will be in the AHL next year. Had a good year in the OHL last year but being an overage player, those stats can be misleading.
Christ that's even better than getting Yandle. With Staal moving and if that's true the Pens just dumped about 8 million in salary if I'm not mistaken.
Penguins now have over 14 million in cap space free. So who are they targeting? Suter? Nash? Parise? Ryan? I'm going with Parise and Suter. But Nash is an intriguing option since it would come out of right field. Which is right up Shero's alley.
Holy fuck did the Hurricanes get Hurri-robbed, Pens had absolutely no leverage after Staal's actions and comments this week to get that much out of the Hurricanes, with Carolina knowing they could have him for nothing at all in a year.
Brandon Sutter is a great young forward with a lot of upside and potential, will slot in nicely as a 3C who can play defense too (not as well as Staal). To get him AND AHL-depth defenseman AND a 1st rounder we turned into the first of 2 blue-chip defensemen picks, was a great move by Shero.
Im so fucking angry Paul Martin and Ben Lovejoy are still on the team, but Michalek going isn't a tremendous loss. You know, ESPECIALLY WITH THIS DEFENSIVE DEPTH. I guess Poiluit or w/e with the 8th pick is Joe Morrow's defense partner with the Portland Winterhawks so they might both be brought up together in a year or two after they mature in the AHL.
Getting Maata that late was an amazing bit of luck.
Now Parise or Suter would be FUCKING BOSS. Suter/Letang/Orpik/...Martin.../Engelland/Niskanen/Despres for the 7D. Or fucking
Parise/Crosby/Sullivan
Kunitz/Malkin/Neal
Cooke/Sutter/Dupius
The impression I've been getting more and more over the 8 weeks since the Pens were eliminated is a sense of embarrassment and indignation that is growing and the whole organization including players and staff are getting the sense that we're better than what we showed and we were Cup favorites going into the playoffs and we are Cup favorites going into the season and the whole organization is getting the same mentality Malkin had last off season, the "I want to make the world my fucking bitch" beastmode. I was honestly comparing it to the anger the Patriots felt after the taping incident and they had just traded for Moss in the offseason before the controversy and Bellichik and Brady were just perpetually fucking pissed off all-season and made it a point to run up the score on every single opponent and the line vs the Jets was like -42 points. I honestly am getting that impression more and more, that the Pens want to literally just want to fucking rip the rest of the league to shreds just to prove they can.
Bylsma and the coaching staff were embarassed by Laviolette, we were embarassed in the first round as Cup favorites by our rivals of all teams, we were dissed by Staal, Letang and Fleury had inconsistent years, and the season just left a sour taste in everyone's mouth and everyone's now past the shock and disappointment and anger and determination are filling the void.
Could always bump Kennedy to 4th line and use Dupuis as 3rd liner RW
Parise going to LA, psh.
Ultimate troll job send Carter and Richards to Pittsburgh lol.
I haven't seen the Michalek posted anywhere official yet?
Yeah its official.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired defenseman Harrison Ruopp, goaltender Marc Cheverie and a 2012 third-round draft pick (81st overall) from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Zbynek Michalek, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Ruopp, 19, played for the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League (WHL) this past season after being drafted by the Coyotes in the third round (84th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft. Ruopp appeared in a career-high 62 games for Prince Albert, posting nine points (2G-7A) and 127 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Ruopp has spent the past three seasons with the Raiders, collecting 18 points (2G-16A) and 263 penalty minutes in 149 regular-season games. Ruopp, a native of Zehner, Saskatchewan, added nine penalty minutes in six playoff contests.
Following this trade the Penguins will own seven more selections in the 2012 NHL Draft between Rounds 2-7 on Saturday at CONSOL Energy Center. Following a single selection in the second round (52nd overall), Pittsburgh now owns two choices in each of the third (81st, 83rd) and fourth (92nd, 113th) rounds, and single picks in rounds five (143rd) and six (173rd).
Wow Shero is really pushing the chemistry issue;
Not only is Poiluiot Morrow's partner in Portland of the WHL, Maata is Scott Harrington's (Pens 2nd rd pick a year ago) partner with London of the OHL.
If I were the pens, id take a run at Suter.
Ribero and Forsberg? Fuck Yea!
Thomas Wilson? Wut? I was hoping for Ceci or TT personally.
Shocked at how far some players dropped and at how many D-men ended up going in the top 10.
Fucking A night. Holy fuck.
Tavern Drafty Party was awesome. Limited to one pub so getting in was smooth. 1 minute line and we were in. Door prizes. Draw prizes every hour. Budweiser girls. Tavern girls. Random smoking hot ladies. There were two specific ones where me and my buddies shut up and stared for a few seconds. Holy fuck they were fine. Obviously dressed for Stu and Bogo.

Stuart being pulled away from photos and autographs by camera crew for quick interview. I could've reached out and stroked that manly chin right than and there.

Bogo and Stu taking a break from photos and autographs again to talk to media and random people. I was on my way to grab food when I noticed them.

The two lines for photos and autographs were moving at a fucking snail pace and the staff realized at the current rate, everyone wouldn't get it done. So to speed things up, Stu and Bogo went down the lines signing stuff and then it would be a marathon session of photos.
Bogo got to me first, shook my hand, signed my hat. Stu came alone a bit later, signed my hat and asked me and my buddies if we were having a good time and we belted out "FUCK YEAH!"
Got his manly smile for that.
Mission fucking accomplished. My photo with both of them will be up on the Jets site on Monday.
Also, Bogo told me he loved me. I have witnesses and can get sworn statements from the camera crew too.
He. Loves. Me.
BROMANCE FUCKING ACHIEVED!
Oh noticed a Ferrari parked outside when leaving. Don't think it was Stu's, as he is a family man...so I'm guessing Bogos or some rich guy that was there
Epic night.
Liked our pick as well. Would've preferred a forward but the kid went through the USA development system and looks to be physical like Bogo.
The Pens got embarrassed by Philly in the playoffs despite how well they did in the regular season. I think that while these changes are extreme, they were necessary.
Not to be busting your balls all day, because I'm sure they're trying to get at least one of them, but probably only one of them as getting two would put them up against the temporary cap, which is likely to fall a bit after CBA negotiations (if the season actually happens lol). I would guess Pitt will be a strong player in FA dealings this summer though.
Mostly unrelated:
I am guessing Detroit will make an offer to Suter for about 85% of what he is worth. He will laugh at them and sign somewhere else, and Detroit will pick up a 3rd pairing D-man and pretend that their defense isn't largely abysmal. They will proceed to do the same with Parise, and end up signing Penner, Jagr, or Hudler and pretend that it isn't a gigantic step down from Parise.
