I wouldn't have really thought JVD had all that much trade value after last year.

Talking about the leafs here
So I guess this means either Mason of Pavelec are on their way out.
A shame, I really liked both. Pavelec still growing and he's shown a number of times last season he can steal a game here and there and make those ridiculous saves time to time. Mason is a solid back up, very patriotic and the fans love him.
And Bogo is changing his number 4 to 44 this year. So the people who got his 4 jersey signed last night will be a uncommon commodity lol.
The Schenn/JVR trade is weirdly balanced, normally I feel like JVR would be valued higher but he had a down year this year due to injuries after seeming poised to break out.
Good pickup for Toronto I think but it also leaves their D fairly depleted.
Insofar that they use comparable contracts signed by similar players in similar situations in recent years. And it's not like the arbitration process is just some 3rd party slapping a dollar amount on a player and making a GM sign it, both sides argue their case and present a dollar amount and term that they would like the contract to be.
Also in the end RFAs just get paid less.
Because Thoronas will appreciate it:
My cousin arrived from Calgary last night to visit us. My hostess gift? A huge thing of Tim Horton's coffee. Best cousin.
Wait Isladar can be a good hostess?
I somewhat agree, as their current stock of defenders aren't amazing (gunnarson, komisarek, liles), but they do have a deep prospect pool on defence, led now by Morgan Reilley. Hopefully they're also able to snag Schultz. I'm expecting at least one more trade that sends off either gunnarsson or franson.
So
Zach Parise :
As we all know Pittsburgh and Detroit are in the Derby but so are the Minnesota Wild
Sutter : Same teams as Parise exept the Wild
Rich Nash : will not be offered to any team until Parise's deal has been done (CBJ saying they will get better offers from team who didnt get Parise lol)
Luongo : Gillis said to stop spreading rumors about Luongo because he is a too big part of the team to be traded off that easy
Suter != Sutter
That predator guy
The cup will be near my town soon
Even tho he did nothing in the playoffs Jonathan bernier will bring the cup in Laval on July 12 yay
Wow this article really makes it seem like Toronto is the likely destination for Luongo if gillis wants to move him. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle4367088/
If we can move Luongo that could help open up cap space to get a good defense man and third line center and right wing for the second line we'd be set. Somehow I dont see that happening. Also I expect schnieder to get 3 mil a year unless another team signs him to an offer sheet.
