He's signed and he'll be at camp afaik, I am doubtful he gets a roster spot to start the season, unless Holland literally signs no one. I'm hopeful though, some day one of these Euros will turn out to not be shitty.

Also yeah, lots of short people in here.

I'm 5'3". I always get asked why I wear heels or platforms everywhere, it's because whenever I'm barefoot, people always comment, "Wow, you're short!" like it's not the most obvious thing ever.

Riberio only has a year left on his contract and probably needed to be moved for prospects. The leadership core he was a part of needs to get shipped out. That being said, Morrow needed to go before him. Riberio is the most useful part of that old core, and should have gotten the highest return and kept longest.

Riberio is absolutely horrible defensively and is not a good PP player at all. He's one of the best playmaking centers in the game especially at ES, but he was a big part of our problems last year on the PP. By the end of the year he also had to be heavily sheltered at ES, getting almost primarily offensive zone starts and no defensive zone starts. This forced Jamie Benn to take primiarily defensive draws as Gulutzan could not trust Riberio's line to take defensive draws.

This needed to happen, but I'm disappointed with the return.

Early analysis seems to be that Ribeiro will center Ovechkin and get good matchups and zone starts, while Backstrom's line plays the tougher minutes. Sad to hear about his lackluster PP effectiveness though.
