I highly doubt Bruke does that because he was very pissed when the Oilers did that with Penner. There is a code amongst GMs and offering contracts to RFAs is one thing that can screw you over in the GM world. You do that and you open your self up for other GMs to then come and offer contracts to your big players when they are RFAs.

With the draft over and the Oates press conference tomorrow, hopefully now GMGM can focus only on player decisions. My to-do list:
1. Re-sign Carlson.
2. Double check that you re-signed Carlson.
3. Identify UFA, non-Parise wings who could skate top six minutes. (Yes, that may mean re-signing Semin.)
4. Wait for Beagle and Perreault to accept their qualifying offers, or give them small raises.
5. Offer Green a long-term, cap-friendly deal (~ $3 million per.)
6. Carlson is re-signed, right?
7. Talk to Ribeiro and Brouwer about extending past next season.
8. Laugh maniacally as someone else signs Dennis Wideman.
