It will likely be more similar to Kovalchuk's, probably more expensive but a shorter term. They're both very good players that have some of their best years ahead of them, a 10 year $75m contract would not be surprising in the least for either. And neither one would look that terrible when you consider that other teams are still interested in players like Nash and his contract.

I'm guessing there was more than 1 deal that included a 9m+ caphit, but it was probably less attractive teams that generally were not on his radar.

Another source just confirmed to me Parise and ‪#Pens‬ have verbal agreement in place, still tweeking some details .Announcement within 24hrs.

Can't wait to see the Pens get blown out 8-6 in the first round again.
