Mikael Samuelsson back with the Wings. 2 year deal.
Mikael Samuelsson back with the Wings. 2 year deal.
Mikael Samuelsson back to Detroit for 2 years, 3m per. FUCK.
He is a Swedish Hudler, he does nothing.
edit: Also seems like a strange signing, this likely fills Hudler's spot (possibly, in competition with Nyquist/Brunner), but he is the 13th forward, with Abdelkader still needing to be re-signed. Either points at a trade or moving some people to the minors/waiving? Makes me skeptical that the Red Wings are in the thick of things for some high profile forwards. Unfortunately.
According to TSN, Praise's list is NJ, Philly, Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh.
$2 it's Philly.
Just to troll the NHL world.
I wonder if the Kings will try and move Gagne. Unless Penner or Gagne want to play on the 3rd line.
Philly's offer is rumored to be over $100m, which fits into what Holmgren seems to have been doing recently, giving out huge contracts and trading away core players on whims.
Tootoo in Detroit for 3 years, $1.9m per year.
WHAT IS GOING ON
Red Wings feel they might not get Praise so sign everyone else and hope they score 30 goals combined? I dunno, lol.
There has to be a trade coming at some point soon, Detroit has way too many forwards now.
Please don't give Filppula, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, or Nyquist away.
If there is a trade like Franzen, Cleary, Miller, Kindl + picks for a good player I would be overjoyed though.
I would do that, but it would be an iffy deal for Nash from Columbus' perspective. Franzen is a streaky top 6 player with potential for monster streaks, Cleary is a middle 6 player who is solid if he's not injured, Miller is a good bottom 6 player who can PK, Kindl is a player who hasn't been able to show potential but is likely a decent bottom pairing player, could possibly turn into a 4th D. If you add a 1st and 3rd you could MAYBE get Nash. The problem is there is also the chance that all of that from Detroit turns out to be shit, Cleary could get injured, Kindl not pan out, and Franzen only gives you 1-2 decent years for his eternal contract.
As far as Samuelsson and Tootoo I can see them being players that Detroit needs, but I can also see them being huge frustrations. Samuelsson essentially being Hudler and missing chances, and Tootoo being a shithead and racking up PIMs.
Aaron Rome signed with the Stars as well.
Well, says the Kings are also still on Parise's list since he has called other teams back and said "thanks but no thanks" and the Kings were not one of those teams.
I don't really see us signing anyone though. If we still had a shot at Parise, I doubt we would have signed Penner.
