Garrison is a good defensive D-man with a cannon. He's not an offensive D-man, but he's a legit top 4 defender.

6 years is a lot, but its a good signing.

4.6m isn't bad if he can keep up with what he was doing last season. I have a lot more confidence in Garrison at 4.6m than Wideman at 5.25m. 6 years is pretty long though.

Garrison won't score 15+ again next year. But he'll be a smooth skating defensive defender around 10 goals a year. As long as people have realistic expectations, he'll be good in VAN.

I think he probably took less money then he could have gotten elsewhere in exchange for a longer term. I'm ok with that unless he turns into Bouwmester. Glad we got him with Salo gone we needed SOMEBODY.
