FUCK!
FUCK!
I cannot fucking wait to see the contract terms though; predicting massive overpayment.
Paul Martin could totally be the next Nick Lidstrom! Trade us a winger?!
Realistically, the Penguins can survive another year with no major winger for Crosby. It's not the end of the world. It's just fucking irritating that AGAIN the Penguins weren't able to land one of the marquee free agents available.
Lets see if the Wild can make the playoffs this year.
I'm not doubting the impact Suter and Parise can make. I don't think they are going to make a big enough difference in Minnesota to push them even remotely close to the upper echelon in the league.
TSN just broke that both have definitely signed with the Wild. Hopefully someone lets them know not to carpool with Heatley.
Looking like 13 years, $98 mil for Parise?
Suter et Parise seems to have signed 13 yars
Parise would be around 100mill
Outside of Suter, the Wild defense is pretty lack luster. Also going to see how good Suter really is now with no Weber.
Im guessing their first line with be
Parise-Koivu-Setoguchi
2nd will be
Heatley-Brodziak-Clutterbuck
I have no idea who is going to be Suters D partner.
Also the Wild WILL be able to compete lasts year. They were near the top of the league for a bit early on, got rocked by injuries and regressed a bit.
I wouldn't call them a playoff lock but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them competing with Vancouver for the NW.
I laught that Parise is now making 7.5 mil a year. Hes good, but no where near that good.
Ah well at least they didn't go to Philly and are still out West. Sorry about Suter Wulf. Proceed with gutterfest.
Apparently Suter making the same $98m/13y.
If thats the case, the Wild are fucking stupid, lol. Weber is going to make 9 mil now.
WOW. I like Suter. But no way in fucking hell is he worth 7.5 million a year. Holy shit Minnesota done lost their minds.Apparently Suter making the same $98m/13y.
A team over paying in free agency?? No wai!!
NW just got a lot more interesting. I'm actually glad for that. Maybe now games against Minnesota will be interesting.
Both overpaid, but not to insane extents (except with the length of contract). Parise being paid similarly to Gaborik, Heatley, Nash, Stamkos, Lecavelier, Vanek, and less than Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, and Eric Staal. He's not the worst of those contracts.
Suter is the highest paid defenseman by cap hit, about half a mil more than Campbell and Doughty. His is a bit worse than Parise's.
edit: But this is what happens in free agency. Neither are particularly surprising numbers.
Also both Suter and Parise still have smaller cap hits then Rick Nash. So they've got that going for them.
And with that, the Wild have no cap space now.
I just looked at their team and wtf? Parise and Suter make 7.53, Heatley makes 7 mil, Koivu 6.75 mil, Bouchard 4 mil, Gilbert 4 mil, Backstrom 6 mil.
Is Minnesota the land of the retarded contracts?
