Dreger says Matt Carle is close to signing with Tampa Bay.
FUCK BEATEN FUCK YOU AND YOUR STANLEY CUP
LOL Tampa must be throwing a TON of money at Carle to get him to go to that hockey wasteland.
That or he wants the best tax rates!
Vancouver fans are delusionally obsessed with Weber:

Trade him to Philly for Couturier+ or Shenn++ and get him the fuck out of our conference if you can't sign him to a 5+ year deal. It must be nice to be a fan of a major hockey market; I may be a lush, but I'm a pretty patient guy and it sucks not being able to hold onto the premier defenseman and goalies you have developed.
Carles agrees to 6 year contract with Tampa Bay. $5.5 aav.
I would say 5.5 mil is high for Carle but compared to Suter its a fucking bargain.
Hey, Tampas gotta reach the floor like other SE teams.
Parise and Suter's deal is 12, 12, 11, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 8, 6, 2, 1, 1.
And they both have NTC/NMC.
Wow, the whole flames defense has basically NTC/NMC, lol. They have 11 total. I guess they just hand those out like candy? I would think players wouldn't want to get locked into play for the Flames.
I also would just like to let everyone know that Sep is retarded and probably has never even been to Tampa to see how much of a passionate fanbase they have there. Tampa is far from a hockey wasteland, and their fans are pretty awesome.
This has been your neighborhood "defending non-traditional markets in response to undeserved and ignorant slander from hypocritical fanbases" post of the day. Carry on.
Before he passed, my grandfather lived in the Tampa area, and the market to me seemed a lot like DC. The Bolts definitely take a back seat to the Buccaneers, but they do have a passionate fan base. Teams in the northeast just don't see it, because they don't travel to our arenas. At any given home game in DC, I'll see Rangers, Flyers, Penguins, and Sabres jerseys, and I'm guessing you fuckers see Caps jerseys too. Nobody sees Bolts jerseys not because the fan base sucks, but because they're a fucking long way from home. But they're there, trust me.
Oddly enough, my grandfather only cared about the Rays, lol.
Yep, its a ton of transplants sure, but there's still a really passionate fanbase. Like every other market in America, the fans only show up in full force when they're winning. Even through the tough times of the past few years they've still had decent turnouts though. I talked to a lot of STHs when I went to a few of their games a few years ago when I lived in Orlando. Really smart, loyal people, even though they've had it rough since the lockout. Before he passed, my grandfather lived in the Tampa area, and the market to me seemed a lot like DC. Hopefully the Caps are just saving up for Doan, re-signing players and ten next year. Wouldn't mind Getzlaf as our second line center!
He's gotta lock up Carlson and Alzner, given what Suter got on the open market. And the more I think about it, GMGM has to be talking sizable extensions with Brouwer and Ribeiro, or else both those trades will look suspect, especially parting with Eakin.
There really hasn't been a signing where I thought GMGM should have made the same deal. Parenteau and Pyatt are the closest I guess, but I have faith he can put guys in a position to succeed come October.
