THe Bouwemeester talk was just me thinking of what kind of deals the Wings would try to make to deal with the fact that they still really only have a #2, 3, and 4 defenseman. Bouwemeester would help the defense but would not be an ideal option. Most other #1 defense would likely need to be overpaid for, and that kind of deal would likely leave the Wings in a worse situation in a few years.

Caps re-sign Perreault for two years, $2.1 million total. Continues GMGM's policy of giving restricted guys mild raises but leaving one restricted year left at the end of the deal.

If he can hold down 3C or even a top six wing position, it's a steal. He has some sneaky good offensive instincts, like the deal a lot.
