I missed all the talk about disowning daughters...told my gf the same thing, but not for entirely the same reason. I really dont want to have to deal with the whole 12-18 year old drama/sneakingout bullshit, on top of the fact that instead of playing sports and video games and doing FUN things, its gonna be "barbies" and what not, fuck that.

I know I'm a little late on this one, but stereotype much? I was daddy's little girl, and while I did some girly things (ohi dance lessons and cheerleading), I was a tomboy too, playing sports with my brothers, hunting, fishing, and playing with toy guns/trucks. If there was a local (and I mean within 10 minutes driving distance, my parents were cheap as fuck) hockey league, all three kids in my family would have been on it, instead, we played street hockey on roller blades in our driveway, and yes, we broke our fair share of garage windows.

I remember having to learn to be ambidextrous with sticks, since I preferred right handed but my brothers both used left - they were emulating players, can't remember who, but wanted to be just like them so they trained themselves to be lefties - and I had to learn how to use a lefty because my parents refused to buy a hockey stick for their daughter.

Good times.

If I were Columbus, I'd make Rangers throw in Staal too, and if I were then the Rangers, I'd still do it because you know Marc Staal is gone to Carolina the instant his contract is up, anyways.

I'm on the fence if that is the deal. Neither stepan or dubi had noteworthy seasons this past year but their potential is there if they can get back on the horse. These are franchise players we're talking about and I think we gotta be cautious about mortgaging our future for someone who is a big name but isn't exactly in a place where we can see his talent fully. Yeah I want Nash but I'd rather throw equally unproven players to Columbus instead!

I think we all expected more from a kid who scored a hatty in his NHL debut. He's improved but was really inconsistent this year. Just hope he doesn't go the way of Erik Christensen.

Dubinsky and Kulemin both hit an awful season. I believe it is the case for both of them that they'll rebound very well.

Someone just asked a very good question on twitter. How does John Scott have a contract but Semin doesn't? I'm really curious if he's actually considered locker room poison or if he's just asking for too much money.

From all the experts like McKenzie, McGuire, (Yeah, yeah, you people hate him.), lolCrawford. They're all pretty much on par with comments of "Don't bring this guy into your room. Even if his contract means he pays YOU to put on the jersey. Stay the fuck away."

I think it's pretty telling that after losing out on Parise, Shero didn't default to picking up Semin. Not that I'm of the mindset that if the Penguins offered someone a contract they'd jump on it, but a non-cancerous Semin would fill a gap in the Penguin's lineup without question.
