idk ff8 probably one of my favorite other than FFT, I think it's just eastern vs western mentality, ff8 was one of the most popular ff in asia.

The junction system in ff8 is one of my fav rpg battle systems. Its even actually intertwined into the story as an important element. The story had its up and downs, but over all I loved the game. I remember sitting in the classroom for a couple hours going through all of selphies emails and events she was trying to plan, details like that are awesome.
I don't know why 9 isnt on the list, the battle system was ff13 level of retarded and so simple it was boring. The characters are likeable, its only saving grace, but I feel like id enjoy the game more if I never entered a battle, and just saw zidane and crew going from one scene to another.
Dirge of Cerberus though, can't believe I paid full price for that game...
You think FF9 battle system is simple when compared to FF12? FF12 was by far the FF I liked the least. It is the only one of them all which I got to the final boss, saved, and never turned the game back on because I just didn't care. The character development was absolutely horrid and you could auto-attack through almost the entire game.
you must not have done the hunts, the best part of xii
No, if the main game's battle system and storyline were worth 1 shit, then maybe, just maybe, I would have got to side quests. Alas, it was shit.
I did enjoy the hunts. The tougher fights were fun, but I'll have to agree that the storyline is horrible in XII.
battle system was pretty entertaining, opinions are craaaaaazy
FF12s battle system consisted of running into a mob and AFKing until it died. Battles were more about preparing proper macros then actual combat.
I still kinda liked 12... More then 8/10/13 anyway.
I liked the atmosphere of 12, but its fights were pretty retarded once you had enough gambits to effectively play the game by only moving the left analog stick.
Called the devolution of this thread into a FF argument like 4 pages back :<
Like Char said, just disable 'em and play it old fashion then. Too many people bitch about 12 and fail to realize that.
Also now playing in your head for the rest of the day
If a game offered you godmode throughout the game you'd probably use it too. It's on the developer to figure out the balance between functionality and fun, not the player. That's second/third/fourth/etc play through shit, intentionally trying to make the game more difficult then it has to be.
All said and done, FF12 probably had the best post-game of all the FF <.< I can't really think of another one that came close (Although, post-game stuff didn't really get added until 7+). That dragon that had a fuckton of hp couldn't be killed strictly with gambits <.< Granted, it mostly just took a lot of micro-managing keeping bubble up, but there was some more than just that.
I don't see how you could play the game with out gambits, unless you want to take ages for each battle unless you were 10 levels above the area. And forget about boss fights...
Can I add modern warfare 3? I know its just more of the same cod shit that's put out every year, but I had a lot of fun with black ops, with my last cod being renting MW1 for 2 weeks before that. I decide to get mw3 cause hey, millions of people can't be wrong right, and was so supremely disappointed in how bored I was. Never buying another one again until a giant leap in gameplay/immersion/fun is made..
What? You clearly haven't even tried to.
That aside, you could very easily have two NPCs with gambits and fully control a single character or WHATEVER you wanted. That's what made gambits great, the game could be full manual, full auto or anything between.
Whatever you actually WANT it to be unless you're a moron which apparently most FF12 players are/were.
>developers create a mode of game play specific to this game for players
>players fault for using it
>developers give players the option of using said mode
>players kick and scream about how it ruined the game
