No thanks, I'll pass, just like i didn't use gambits for my main character in ff12.
Almost all games are balanced to be playable by casuals. As many of us have realized by now, that usually means it's so easy there's little point even playing for those of us that know what the fuck, even on the hardest difficulty for games that have harder difficulties. Fortunately it's usually pretty easy to handicap yourself to make it challenging.
Not really. They can do their best to balance things for the average player, but there will always be those who still find it way too easy. It's on the developer to figure out the balance between functionality and fun, not the player.
Not for me it's not. My first play through of zelda ss was done with no shield, no potions/fairies, and no heart pieces. In games like dragon age, i never use more than a single character. I often avoid using potions entirely when it's possible, etc, etc. All on my first play through. And i almost always do this. That's second/third/fourth/etc play through shit, intentionally trying to make the game more difficult then it has to be.
