Yeah I think of it too, and certainly not fondly.

But that commercial came out in 1997. I was aware of Ninjas and Ducatis when playing Road Rash as a kid circa 1993.

In fact, I always thought it was a Ninja on the cover after asking my Dad about the one on the title screen (in black, no less):

Looks a tad different to me now of course, really not sure what that is on the covers, but that's what I grew up with and now I've got one.
