Star Wars has always been made for children. I would say 1-3 are a step down from the others, but I bet they would seem a lot more awesome if you were a child when you first saw them. Either way, Star Wars isn't that great to begin with. Nothing of value was lost.

I'm a die hard Star Wars fan. I have enough merchandise from the 70s and 80s that I've collected since I was a little kid to fund someone's college education. I can literally quote the entirety of New Hope, Empire, and Jedi.

I camped out overnight to get midnight release tickets to Episode 1 (they were selling them two weeks in advance). We watched the originals, we drank moonshine, we lightsaber dueled while being interviewed on the news. Two weeks later, as the first screening of Episode 1 ended, I looked at my buddy and said: "What the hell was that"

Those movies were horrible. The story made no sense at all, no one's actions were believable, the script was absolutely horrible, and the acting was horrendous (and this is coming from a big Ewan McGregor fan, and I even liked Hayden Christensen in other movies he's been in, like Life As A House). Red Letter Media's reviews were dead on.

They explained that shit away in KOTOR with forcefields making projectile weapons useless which drove people back to bashing each other with sticks of varying substance. How canon SW:KOTOR is I dunno...

KOTOR is pretty canon. It's on par with the book stuff, which is all considered canon. The only things that out-canon them are the movies and lucas himself. There's a whole tier system set up, iirc. And yeah, i don't think you can really weaponize hyperspace in that way either. it's an alternate dimension type deal, so i dont think you keep your velocity. You could still use it to launch surprise bombardments though. One of the characters in the expanded universe did that. He put hyperdives and cloaking devices on asteroids, then launched them at a planet. They dropped out of hyperspace, cloaked up, and set a colliding orbit.
