Yeah, okay. I thought the helmet thing and the running away from the rolling ship thing were pretty silly. Also the timeline seems a bit wonky (as it relates to Alien), unless there are markedly more developed Aliens elsewhere (it's already been established that the planets aren't the same, which I actually think is a bit of a shame, given the way the ship landed & that it'd be nice to tie up that question from Alien). Things that I don't mind that were unanswered were the "what is the nature of the black goo" type questions (and the mealworms + goo = tentacley thing -> zombie human; human + goo = asplodey head -> squid stuff); the "what was the nature of that facility" question, the "why'd they make/want to destroy us" stuff, etc. I think that Demo answers the question about what they were running from, the mural is a good point. Why one managed to survive, however, is a different question. Also, I put the David/goo question in the "David's a dick" category.

The facility was a bioweapons plant, which was answered by TPG. Why they want to destroy is us because we are an experiment gone awry, and are getting dangerous, especially with the new predator technology we obtained after AVP:R. The alien never got into the spaceship flight deck, he was alive because he wasn't woken up from cryostasis state. David did that because he was told to "try harder" and to see if the black goo had any ill effects on people before he gave it to his master/father. As far as where the Xenomorph that killed them went? It could be anywhere in the facility, they only explored a fraction (granted, they did have those red ball things that could apparently detect life), or any place on the entire planet/moon. It's also fairly unimportant to the plot.

the alien type symbiote things can only hatch a queen if a contaminated human male inseminates a human female thus making that thing she extracted in the self-surgery thing

once that thing grows or gestates or whatever (pardon my science) then it can attach itself to an engineer and make a queen

presumably, the engineers came to destroy the nest (one of many on the planet?) so basically if humans are out of the equation, the queens can't be born. I foresee them going to the engineers' planet and trying to team up against the alien queen(s) and their hordes, I don't foresee the engineers staying enemies, unless this turns into some super-lame aliens versus predator thing where the engineers turn out to be the australopithicus to the predator homo sapiens sapiens

Supposedly, it fits, I haven't really seen AVP:R and tbh I don't remember much of anything from Alien/Aliens. Something about at the end of AVP:R, the Predators left some technology, which allows humans to make the insane technological/medical advances seen the movie (Prometheus space ship, the medical things). Also, it could be that the engineers are making these bioweapons to fight another alien race (Predators), considering that Humans are/were hardly a threat to them (And thus, they want to destroy humans because they killed their "jesus" or whathaveyou).

Well, I was talking about him saying we were the missing link between Xenomorph/Queen and black goop. We still haven't seen if Xenomorphs can be born with only Engineers available to infect (unless this was covered in the Alien/s movies?)

Who says the predators are weaker than the Engineers? They could be trying but haven't been able to develop something which will do so, hence the bioweapons facility (which existed over 2000 years ago, coinciding with the first evidence of the Predators being involved with humans).

I think in prometheus they found a 30,000 year old cave at the start so that is long before the pyramids.
