just as an fyi, if you guys ever want to find a house for rent be VERY careful looking on craig's list. It's almost useless to search there as (at least when we looked) like 90% of the ads are scams. Easy way to tell is to see if there is an MLS on the house. Otherwise, it's funny when you get the email "I can't let you look at the place because I am a missionary in africa but the deposit is refundable if you end up not liking the place after renting it."


It's a hassle though.

0/3 tonight. The one house we really liked the foundation in the basement was bulging by a good 3/4 inch and had signs of termites on the outside. The search continues. Blech.

The few houses we've seen that are for sale by owner and not using a realtor were ridiculously overpriced.

I need to remember to ask about which utility companies are available and if I can use the backyard, also if they're painting the place before I move in because there were marks on the walls as if they were. I am writing this here so I remember to do so

One place I looked at offered to let me paint the room myself and they'd take $100 off of each of the first two months' rent. I wonder if I can negotiate that here

It's just me, 1br and I think she said 970 sq ft (though that number is suspect to me). It's the third floor of a triplex, owners live on the 2nd floor. Comes with a washer/dryer as well so I don't have to make the drive of shame to my parents' house to wash my undies

my gf and i just found a place, 1800 bones for 800sq ft LOL, no dishwasher, no in unit washer and dryer, but the laundry room is p nice. LOL
