Les Miserables (December 14, 2012)

This was always one of my favorites musicals and this totally is going to be a day one watch for me. I would say that I Dreamed a Dream, Finale and One More Day are the ones I fell in love with.

The casting seems real solid, altho there is already <3 bias cause Hugh Jackman is in it. I'm just glad we've reached a point where the musical genre are being accepted again, that the movie industry is willing to take a chance and it should be well received.

I joined the french club my sophomore year in high school for the sole purpose of seeing this musical. This and Miss Saigon are what got me hooked on musicals.

Can't embed atm, but its a very very interesting behind the scenes look. They didn't actually do the studio recording and then lip sync on set; they were singing live every take, with a pianist on set (who's been replaced with an orchestra in editing). That's amazingly ballsy and I'm looking forward to this even more, now!

Do You Hear the People Sing is one of the most amazing experiences live. I am so excited to see it on the big screen. The whole barricade scene gives me goosebumps every time.

I AM SO EXCITE.

You know, I hope someday in my lifetime they give this kind of treatment to Man of La Mancha. That was the musical I saw as a kid that got me hooked on the theatre. There's an old movie version of it, but I'd really like an updated one.

I've been waiting for a musical version of Les Miz for almost two decades now...this musical changed my life in a lot of ways. I saw it at a very impressionable time in my life and it left a lasting impact. It also spurred my love of musical theatre. I really really want a movie version of Wicked (which is supposed to be happening) next!

I was seriously skeptical about Anne Hathaway as Fantine, especially when i read that the songs were all live recordings with each take. Then I saw that First Look/Making Off preview in my local theater and I was blown away. I am seriously looking forward to this.

I didn't realize they did the songs live like that, very cool. Can not wait to see this movie.
