The Newsroom, Season 2

This show is good, sometimes great. Sorkin can drive me crazy sometimes but as long as Don is still putting it down I will love it and appreciate that it get us 10 weeks closer to BrBa and Thrones. K, just rewatched it and read a review and I get what's going on now:

I'm extremely annoyed at this Genoa plot line. As far as I can tell, it's something completely fictitious that gets the ACN in hot water and they have to retract the story. This will probably serve as the backdrop of the Season 2, in the same way that Will going after the Tea Party served as the backdrop of Season 1.

What's annoying is that because this is something completely fictitious, it doesn't serve as any sort of criticism of anyone in the same manner that the Tea Party criticisms did.

I was hoping that the drone strikes thing was going to become the main plot, but there was many potential plots which would, for the most part, criticize Obama and the administration. But if Sorkin wants to be a partisan piece of shit about it, I don't foresee myself enjoying Season 2 as I did with Season 1.

I'll reserve judgement for now.

It's based off a real "event." Not so much Operation Genoa, but the false reporting of something very incriminating which happened to CNN in the late 1990's.

I'm pretty excited about this season, I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I feel like Alison Pill got uglier between the seasons, every time she's on the screen I feel like she's missing eyebrows or something.

Optimistic that Genoa will have real-world parallels, and Will is going to hammer away on drones eventually. He doesn't play "scared of corporate" very well.
