wait is this guy serious at being offended or is he pretending to be a retard
Are these the delicious ones they tried to take to Britain but most never made it off the boat?
Why do we have to be nice to lesser animals? Given a chance most animals would eat us.
Do what you need to do to help our well-being.
some people cant tell the difference between "manipulation" and "cruelty"
so things i want to see before i die, Cloning of extinct animals so at least we can learn about them properly, a pet dinosaur! childhood dreams never die
edit: Make pokémon real!
aside from the god squad there's the practical problem of creating a species from a gene pool of one genotype. most tortoises have their sex determined by temperature so I'd assume you could create breeding pairs from cloned DNA, but considering said genotype was pretty bad to begin with as evidenced by the thing dying at half its life expectancy, I doubt the species could survive for any meaningful length of time in the wild.
You truly are ignorant. I won't waste my time.
None of the testing I linked gets hatched/born etc. I do care about living animals, but I'll be damned if I give two shits about an embryo/fetus prebirth. If it helps mankind to make test tube babies for stem cells or to better our knowledge about our past from animals, have at it. Don't go spraying shit with perfume and thinking it's not that bad, but cmon....
Have they ever managed to get around the telomere shortening that seemed to have been the cause for other cloned animals' deaths? I haven't read much about animal cloning in the past 4ish years.
I was under the impression that telomere shortening wasn't the problem in cloned animals, because they're generally cloned from germ-cell level stuff so there's not much of a difference in terms of the number of divisions. If you were doing it from induced pluripotent stem cells it would be different. My impression is that the problem with cloned animals is damage to the DNA during the cloning process that leads to an increase in tumors in clones.
I thought the problem was that they were soulless biotmatons with only base animal instincts, primarily hunger, who will set out to devour the natural-born world.
