I get your point in that the bacteria counts increase with exposure to warmer temperatures, but on the flip side it's not like the count was at or anywhere close to 0 beforehand (seems you're implying this? correct if wrong). Way too much fear over germs these days.

Didn't say its 0, just that it grows when its not staying cold.

alls I know, I've never dove (not above it necessarily but where would you do this in the great plains? lol) Places here don't put the small Frito-Lay bags of chips in the dumpster a few days before they're bad; they continue to sell them on the shelf weeks after the Best-by date

however, I know I would eat those steaks in Dive (time + ambient temperature a good consideration, yeah)... but man, that shit looked grade A, better than anything you can even choose to buy here. And what the hell is up with that; nothing but feed lots here in every directio----oh wait. that's how you make shit meat

Was out by Winn Dixie the other day and saw 2 guys in the dumpster, so I thought of this thread and walked over there.

I'll say this. I have a very weak nose (dead rat in the attic and it'd gag my uncle and his wife back in the day and I'd walk in there and not smell a thing)

The smells emanating from that dumpster was the most foul odor I've ever encountered. I have no clue how the fuck they were standing in there. The food they were getting was still in their wrappers, but those wrappers were covered with all kinds of shit like sauces and other things. All for a couple fucking loafs of bread.

As someone who was near homeless for almost a year, this isn't something I'd even come close to considering ever doing.
