Nets' new contract commitments: $98M (DWill), $40M (Wallace), $89M (remainder of Joe Johnson's contract), $60M (Lopez). Total: $287 million.
jerry stackhouse also to the nets
By 2015 that team will be paying more in luxury tax than salary under the new CBA rules.
Prokhorov is worth 13 billion, don't think he cares
Guess they couldn't get a deal going for Howard. So unless the Lakers can make a trade and Dwight decides he wants to go there, we get to deal with another 6+ months of this Dwight Howard bullshit again. I really don't know what the Magic are expecting to get for Dwight, not many teams are stupid like the Knicks and will give you exactly what you want for a superstar, especially when he is only under contract for a year now.
And speaking of the Knicks, apparently Lin is not happy because the Knicks didn't make him an offer right away, and instead are waiting for the Rockets to make an offer to match. I don't know why the guy who just recently had to sleep on Landry Fields couch, and is gonna get paid 30 million over 4 years for a few weeks of good play, has the room to bitch.
mavs to amnesty brendan haywood. kaman deal only 1 yr
more mavs movesDavid Aldridge @daldridgetnt
Source confirms @DraftExpress report that Pacers will acquire C Ian Mahinmi from Dallas for G Darren Collison and swingman Dahntay Jones.
Pacers fans got to be pissed with that move
Mavs will also probably get Elton Brand from amnesty.
They lose a little depth at most. Collison lost his starting job to George hill during the playoffs
.The Minnesota Timberwolves are attempting to acquire free-agent forward Nicolas Batum in a three-team trade with the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.
Portland would receive shooting guard Kyle Korver from Chicago and two future first-round draft picks from Minnesota, according to the source. The Bulls would acquire a second-round pick from the Timberwolves, the source said.
The Timberwolves will sign Batum to an offer sheet if the deal can't be completed by Wednesday night, the source said.
But Minnesota is trying to avoid the risk of Portland matching the offer sheet by compensating the Blazers the future picks and Korver as a replacement for Batum.
Blazers general manager Neil Olshey said Wednesday the team would match any offers for Batum, who reportedly agreed with the Timberwolves on a four-year, $45 million offer with bonuses that could push the deal past $50 million.
Agent Bouna Ndiaye also told The Associated Press that Batum wanted to play for the Wolves and that they hoped the Blazers either would not match the offer or execute a sign-and-trade.
I'm okay with getting Korver and 2 first rounders for Batum , that's not a bad deal at all.
collison is not that good and it seems like they think baby-mama curb stomper lance stephenson is ready to step up. i like dahntay jones for what he does but they didn't really use him so it's pretty good trade for pacers.
