CSNNW.com reported earlier this week that Portland Trail Blazers restricted free agent, Nicolas Batum, has already signed Minnesota's offer sheet worth four-years, $46.5 million.

Minnesota's general manager, David Kahn, was asked about that signing during his teleconference and Kahn responded saying Batum can't sign the sheet until Sunday night.


CSNNW.com immediately got in touch with Kahn after the teleconference and he explained that Batum did sign the offer sheet on Thursday. Minnesota's plan was to hold on to Batum signature while they were engaged in sign-and-trade talks with Portland, but since Minnesota had no cap space at the time, the league ruled the offer sheet invalid and Batum must sign it again.

Apparently, a team can't even hold on to a signature without cap space.
Hopefully, that sets the records straight.

This makes me wonder whether we're gonna even match Lin's offer now, gonna be an interesting couple of days.. I liked Felton alot, but that was back with D'Antoni and when they ran the pick and roll alot through Stoudamire. If Woodson can work the rotation to utilize that style when Carmelo is on the bench that would actually be pretty awesome.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (WFAN) - Jason Kidd, who recently signed a new three-year $9 million deal with the New York Knicks, was arrested in Southampton for DWI according to the Southampton Patch.

The police report says Kidd struck a telephone pole with his Cadillac Escalade and then drove into the woods around 2 a.m.

After the accident Kidd was taken to the local hospital for minor injuries, then released to the police.

Kidd was arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge, then released on his own recognizance Sunday morning according to the Southampton Patch.
