Orlando is gonna be fucking stupid if they don't trade him and he walks, which he will if they don't. Better to get something than nothing, they had their chance with him.

If Houston gets Bynum they need to convince the entirity of the Texas Medical Center to figure out how to give him Ghost in the Shell like cyborg legs ASAP. Dont trust the dudes knees at all.
I think the thinking behind all of it is that by the time Houston, Orlando, or Cleveland are ready to contend again, Nash will be retired, Kobe will be retired or on a downswing contract, and Gasol will be no where near top tier. So basically all you do is give LA their next cornerstone, but they aren't necessarily contenders in the long term (we've seen Dwight + scrubs can't go anywhere).
Giving Lakers Dwight will definitely overpower the Lakers in the near future, but that's not a concern they have. You don't want to create a team you can't beat, but if that team has a timer shorter than your recovery time for a Championship run, does it really matter? Orlando is desperate to offload another contract so that it can rebuild post-Dwight and the Lakers are willing to swallow Richardson's contract.
Since it's a move to spite Miami and LeBron, so I have no doubt Dan Gilbert would take Bynum just for that reason. Houston is a little more puzzling unless they think Lin + Bynum will lead them to contention after they have lost basically their entire starting line-up.
So gifting the Lakers a couple titles to spite Lebron is motivation for the cavs. But what about Houston? You actually think the magic, rockets, or cavs will be contenders in 2-3 years?
The Magic depends on drafts and if they can unload Hedo or if they finally amnesty him. They are probably 4-5 out of contention, which is only an argument for them to pull the trigger and get something out of Howard and unload Richardson.
The Cavs could contend in 3 with some luck. Kyrie + Bynum and a couple smart drafts or ring-chaser pick-ups, and they could pull a Clippers style bootstrap to playoffs.
Honestly I have no idea what the fuck Houston is doing gutting their entire roster on the small off-chance Dwight would sign with them long-term after he never once considered the team. Is Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik the help Howard's been waiting for? Houston seems to think so.
courtney lee to the celtics
Magic don't have an amnesty option anymore until the 2015 season since they used theirs on Arenas. Honestly the only thing keeping the Magic competitive is the fact they are in the East, after the Heat/Bulls/Celtics the other spots are pretty much fair game. Pacers pretty much have the 4th on lock too from how they've did last year. And Houston can afford to shake things up, they've been average/mediocre for a LOOOOOOOOONG time. Their best squad with McGrady and Yao Ming couldn't do much in the playoffs, they have to shake things up. Getting Lin, while extremely expensive, will generate some fan interest, and they have the room to go after someone like Dwight.
Lin is for sure overpriced, but then it is very good for their marketing on China market after Yao left.
I guess u didn't get the memo that China thinks Taiwan belongs to them.
Chinese and Taiwanese will support Lin regardless.
It's not going to make them much money. Ticket sales and jersey sales are both revenue shared.
Yeah but what does popularity get you? Better attendance at games and jersey sales.
Houston has a huge chinese population, but I don't see how they can monetarily affect the Rockets that doesn't also get shared to the rest of the league.
Lin brought up stock value at MSG, that shit aint shared. maybe he can have a similar effect in leanville
True, but isn't MSG kind of unique? There's a corporation that owns the Arena, the TV channels, etc.
I don't know the situation in Houston but I don't think it's like MSG.
idk the situation either LOL
Supposedly, the NBA is now looking to have a patch that features ads on jerseys similar to soccer uniforms. In addition to this, the jerseys sold at retail will also have these patches.
Also, in the 2012-2013 season, refs can use instant replay to review a flagrant foul called at any time to determine if it is a flagrant 1 or 2, or if there was no flagrant foul at all and just a normal one.

In other words, if you were ever going to buy a jersey, do it now?
lakers signed jordan hill for 2 years
