edit: also just read that if williams (now with the jazz) opts out of his contract after this year, the jazz will have no players under contract after this year

If Williams were to opt out next summer, the Jazz would have no contractual commitments for the 2013-14 season. That could put Chris Paul into play when he becomes a free agent next year.

and for the hawks, after this year they will only have teague+horford under contract, with CP3+dh12 both becoming FA's

Chris Broussard of ESPN The Magazine is reporting Tuesday morning that the Nets and Magic are discussing a deal that would see Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and Brooklyn's' first-round picks in 2013, 2015 and 2017 go to Orlando for Howard.

Lopez and Humphries are free agents and they would have to consent to sign-and-trades.

I gotta think that after the JJ trade went down any of the other teams trying to get Dwight dropped their proposals to obsurd levels of lol. If this is the best they can get for Dwight then so be it.

It does make me wonder, if Daron resigns, how they are going to manage to pay anyone else to play for them.
