I'm kind of glad actually. Kidd was hot garbage last year and is only going to get worse, didn't want his $3mil a year for 3 years on the books. They need all the cap space they can get.

Unfortunately, Dirk has dragged worse rosters to the playoffs (even the Finals), so they won't be in the lottery or anything, which is too bad.

Maybe they could shut Dirk down ala David Robinson with a fake injury for a year.

Only D-Will and then Kidd as a cheap option, really. They never pursued any of the guys wanting a ton of money or multi-year deals, they want to keep their cap space for next summer.

was supposed to be the summer of Williams+Howard, it's why they abandoned Tyson Chandler and any hope of a repeat. missed out the former, missed out on Nash+Lin+Dragic, lose Kidd, lose Terry, and Howard almost definitely getting traded to anyone other than the Mavs
