Found the camp. Claimed one of the empty tents as my own, it's the one with a few morphine injectors and a toolbox. I'll probably leave the M1014 in there too and try to grab an AR or two tonight.

a bus just drove pass, tried to take its tires out but only got a couple of them. The ATV is still there one of my friends is getting on now too.

Checked every spawn on the map for a vehicle of some kind, didn't find anything. Headed tword NWAF from Shalka and found a motorcycle at the edge of a clearing, not hidden, nothing around.. Hell yeah!

The end of the beginning

That’s right, this is actually happening - DayZ will be developed as a standalone game, with me as project lead, by Bohemia Interactive. This is the fairy-tale outcome for a mod that many would have said impossible four months ago.

Development and updates of the mod will continue in parallel with the development of the game, so anyone who is playing the mod now will be able to continue to do so. The project will follow the Minecraft development model; fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price.

I realize people will have many, many questions - but we wanted to let everyone know the announcement now. Over the coming weeks, these questions will be answered. The game will have it’s own site, www.dayzgame.com and the mod will continue at it’s present link.

Does that mean that Arma2+Mod will be the same as buying the standalone game? Two means to the same end? Or will the mod eventually fall away as the standalone becomes the standard?

Sounds like the mod will be supported until DayZ gets through Alpha/Beta and becomes a full release.
