DayZ - To be released in 2016

why don't you guys just update to the latest versions and try a different server? 1378 is using a fucking outdated dayz (1.7.2.4) and outdated arma 2

Have been playing on different servers. Just that 1378 seems like the unofficial "home" server, and I like it since it usually doesn't have too many players on at once.

I've played on 1378 just on the off chance I meet up with someone from bg, but the server is usually empty, and I still haven't met up with anyone from here(if I get the drop on someone I'll ask them). The closest I've gotten was being in a building in Cherno looting, hearing gunshots, then seeing Deadgye was killed in the bottom left of my screen.

Honestly the server is pretty boring though. Almost always < 5 people on it when I play.

Anyone want to go frolicking through the woods with me tonight? PM or come get me on bg vent(hostname-vs.bfgservers.com port-3793 pw-tail).

So I logged in for a bit today. Went to the supermarket in a northern town to try and get some supplies, and as soon as I get inside I get kicked. No problem, I'll find another server. So I do, but it's not loading. I wait about 15 minutes before I give up and find something else to do IRL. I come back, 4 hours later, to the 'You Are Dead' screen. What a way to waste the first AS50 I found, before I even got a chance to use it.

Oh well, at least I can wonder around Cherno/Electro now.

I haven't been able to get logged in since the first day I played. It keeps getting hung up on the loading screen and does nothing. I literally let it sit for hours on the loading screen and nothing happened. With all the problems I'm having with this game I think I'm done. Waste of thirty bones at this point.

People are such dicks in this game. I was trying to bandage my friend on the road who I was introducing the game to, when some guy shoots him with an assault rifle. So I get on my atv, see the guy laying prone, but drive past him. Live and let live, right? But then the fucker starts shooting at me again. Luckily he couldn't aim for a damn.

reminds me of counterstrike alpha and beta 13-14 years ago, i have a feeling the faggots hacking this game are gonna ruin it for a lot of people and might hurt the games success, but only time will tell. i hope the standalone build is a lot less prone to this bullshit. just got warped to the beach along with every player on the server, and then we all died instantly. i actually had a decent amount of shit saved up, complete waste of time.

honestly this game is a complete waste of time because of the (rather large) possibility of a hacker completely ruining all of the time and effort you put into it

Okay, so far I haven't been able to find out where I'm at in relation to the loot map. This shit is confusing me.

I was able to find ammo, a Makarov, bandages, and other stuff, until I ran off of a ladder and broke my leg. I logged, then logged back on with broken legs and zombies om-nom-noming me.

When I respawned and was being chased by another zombie, I was shot in the head by someone.

Are lot of the griefing and hacks specific to this mod, or are they faults with the underlying Arma 2 engine that affect Arma 2 matches as well?

Just seems silly you can warp-hack everyone to a given location, unless folks found a way to get admin privelages to make that happen. Is better for this to happen now in a mod though so they know wtf they're dealing with on the stand-alone release.

You can do it in Arma 2 just as easy, but Dayz is so much more popular that you only see it in Dayz. It has to do with how Arma 2(and subsequently Dayz) runs everything through scripts. It's so prevalent because it's as easy as doing a DDoS with LOIC.

Also if you want we can let the other BG peeps in on our secret finds. Possibly get stuff repaired faster. Expanding on that BG should attempt to set up secret locations for us to share our spoils of war.

Yes it was me! We found some crazy shit yesterday haha. I'm all for letting more people in on it, but maybe not completely publicly....I didn't play much today, but I did find a DMR/gillie/range finder, gonna log in now for about an hour.

Oh, we need to find some tents/somewhere to set up so I can start gathering repair materials.
