The best thing about FFT is that it's insanely fun and interesting rather you push through at minimum levels (which is insanely hard btw), play it like average, grind yourself to op calc+dancer+bard+mime ridiculousness, or straight up use the bugs to do shit like orlandu and ramza each dual wielding ragnaroks with massive brave loads.
So many ways you can do it and still be entertaining, and of course always have random battles at the right scale
X-COM is fantastic, and GUESS WHAT!?
The entire collection is available for $2.99 right now on Amazon.com and it's Steam code to boot!

not sure if it violates any forum rules talking about fanbased game hacks but... i'm currently playing a fan made patch for final fantasy tactics that makes the game incredibily harder, more challenging and of course, way more fun. the patch basically changed a tons of spells, jobs, items and the overall balance of the game giving story encounters the same level as you (like randoms in vanilla) and usually the npcs have a tier of items ahead of yours.
it forces you to develop strategies of your own even for the easiest battles.
and yeah, orlandu has been nerfed, as well as the calculator, sad story bro.
all the info here.
Has anyone here played the new Sins of a Solar Empire? I always wanted to try the last one but never got around to it.
I think he's been watching the same Let's Play I have since we both post in the Dark Souls thread, it's pretty fantastic to watch:
This first one is a little ridiculous since you have more abilities and options than you start with at the beginning, but it gives you a good idea of the lengths he has to go to.
exactly, when i saw epicnamebro's first episode of his let's play i was like "time for my 4th playthrough".
it's intense, meaning that you can't really play carelessly like you used to on vanilla, there is absolutely no 1 man party anymore. even the holy swordsman are nerfed to the ground (sword skills now uses mp... hint hint agrias with chakra). the one thing i really like is that they increased the impact that zodiac sign, sex and brave/faith have on skills, in vanilla it could be barely noticed.
i'm really enjoying it, and if you are into vanilla fft you must give it a try.
