I hope you are all measuring things in celcius. After using the metric system in the lab this summer, i don't understand why the imperial system is used anymore.
100 today in MN. We're not prepared for days like this..
You weren't prepared for your globes warming?
Texas heat is fun and exciting, especially when the air conditioner breaks down over a weekend and the repair guy couldn't come for 2 days
Al Gore was right, we're all fucked!!!!!!!!!
Imperial System > Metric system because America.
So has anyone else in the northeast been getting hit by these super storms the past 2 days? Shit comes in raging and then just vanishes.
I always heard Texas was dry heat. What's the humidity like down there?Texas heat is fun and exciting, especially when the air conditioner breaks down over a weekend and the repair guy couldn't come for 2 days
F for weather, K for everything else.
Also, anything but YYYY/MM/DD is tardmode.
Shit takes your breath away here in Arkansas. Everyday it's "Temperature outside is 96, feels like 105" and freaking humid. We cant even shoot off fireworks this year because they put out a burn ban with a $1000 fine if you get caught and they are shutting down the fireworks stands.
Grew up in Texas. Moved to Phx for 10 years, car never had AC. Moved back to Texas during the worst heatwave/drought in 50 years. I laugh at your heat wave.
It hasn't even broken the triple double digits(110+) here yet. Now that it's cracking the high 90's the humidity is a little annoying, but nothing a good dose of man the fuck up doesn't fix.
Austin is the greenest city in America. Green = moist. It's humid as fuck here, almost always. Only place worse imo is Houston. Fuck that place.
Houston beats everywhere in Texas as the most humid place >.> you go to that city, you can fucking swim without going into any confined body of water.
Lol, complaining about humidity that's not florida.
is austin really the greenest city in the country? thats p cool. never would have pictured that in TX. I just picture tumbleweeds and rednecks and shiz
North Texas is tons drier than south Texas. However, that's counter acted by being in tornado alley. I feel like to properly live in Texas you have to migrate like the birds; changing north/south depending on the season.
Yeah, you wouldn't quite expect a city in the middle of Texas to have places like this~

Brutal part about this time of year in Chicago is that the heat is also usually coupled with short, but violent storms that knock power out in various places. Last year there were some neighborhoods that got hit with floods/downed power lines that took ComEd several weeks to repair, and this year again we have people in 95°+ heat without power right now.
Over the course of my 30m drive home from work, it went from sunny and beautiful with no clouds... to torrential downpour with strobe-light-like lightning and complete cloud cover... back to sunshine.
Then, another day I was lucky enough to be the last one in the building (and on the way out!) RIGHT as thunder killed the power, forcing me to hang around for an extra hour to make sure nothing went to shit.![]()
