Not really an event per se...you get it all the reforges by trading Monisette (npc right next to old limbus npc) the proper base af/af2/af3, some synth items and the right R.E.M pages which can be obtained thru a variety of methods like certain high tier battlefields or skcnms as well as log in campaigns and by using sparks at the RoE npcs. You can check the reforged armor pages on bg wiki for exactly what to trade and such which are all linked up at the top middle of the site

Also at the bottom of the stairs port jueno there is an npc Oboro who can in a similar fashion upgrade your 99 relic, mythic, and empyrean weapons to 119.

To add to this, reforged af3 is a bit more complicated. In order to get af3 to 119, you'll need to clear Vagary. There are five paths and each one is linked to feet/legs/hands/body/head. If you are just coming back you probably won't be geared enough to be useful in this but if you have a support job or whm at least you can probably beg/bribe your way into a group for clear.

SE artificially increased the level cap to 119 using gear and to keep everything relevant they slowly upgrading content respectively. So first Artifact gear into 109 and +1 into 119. Then relic gear 109 and +119 then abyssea gear 109 and 119.

Everything is niche sidegrades for the most part or badass macro pieces in keeping with ffxi style gameplay, compared to doing straight endgame content for straight badass drops which is still an option.

I felt the same way when I came back, but there are probably only a couple pieces you'd want for a specific job to go all the way on. I wish they'd either get rid of the limbus fee or at least get rid of the cool-down so for the AF pieces I want to reforge, I don't have to spend double the seals. At least the pieces to upgrade no longer have the rare tag, but I'm afraid when I step into those zones that I'll d/c (like the last two times I went in) and I will get nothing and have to wait 20 hours.

Quick summary of the campaigns:

Meeble Burrows: Unlimited entries, enhanced rewards for trading the "worms" you get for winning. Bonus prizes include Rem's Tales, currencies (dynamis, alex, etc), valuable materials and scrolls, pop items (KB, et al, PW)
BCNMs: All seals have increased drop rates. Kindred Crest/High Kindred Crest BCs now have bonus drops, including Kupons for Empy seals (each kupon gives enough to +1 any armor), hexed gear abjurations, currencies, and other rare goodies. Drops vary by BC, and come directly from killing individual NMs within, separate from the final chest.
Reives: Bayld/exp bonuses doubled. Skirmish parts drop rates doubled. Wildskeeper Reive KIs cost 3k Bayld for entry, have 15 min respawn on WKRs, and they have bonus drops in the form of Delve materials.
Walk of Echoes: All Walks are "surged" and "endowed", meaning they are level 119+ with high level drops (surged), and a massive number of temp items are granted and improved rewards (endowed).
Adoulin Dial: The daily tally goblin box has a free extra dial that gives out 1 random Adoulin content item (such as Delve materials, skirmish stones).
Campaign Campaign Campaign: Exp/Allied Notes from efforts doubled. Union drops improved somehow. Campaign Op BCs (Splitting Heirs, Fiat Lux, etc) have special drops including VW materials (Kaggen Cuticle, HMPs, etc). Fiat Lux can drop Arch Dynamis Lord stuff rarely, the other 3 supposedly can drop 10k currency pieces very very rarely.

Any advice for farming coins of glory (solo on blu?)? Even when I briefly played back during abyssea times I rarely did WoE, and most posts I see on other forums don't mention farming during surge which is where all zones are now.

I don't know how things are with the surged campaign in terms of drops, but I never found rhyme or rhythm to where/how much coins would drop. Completely anecdotal, but I think the only times I got sacks of coins were from tier 2 (4-6) confluxes. I just got lazy as hell and bought coins for a lot of my weapon skills from bazaar.

Farming during surged campaign, I'd just go when others are there. I'm sure you can be fine in some of them, but it will be slow and annoying. When not surged, some of those zones are done in like 5 minutes, so sitting there and taking a long time to take down one of the bosses can be a pain in the ass when surged.

While on the topic of WoE WS, I have a question. I know these offer different bonuses, but how much of an upgrade are we talking with Mystic Boon > Dagan or Spirit Taker > Myrkr? I'll probably end up getting both eventually, but besides those, the only one I could get for a current 99 would be CDC (for RDM lol).

Mystic Boon is actually a very potent WS (in terms of MP return). On CP fodder mobs it's not unusual for me to hit 1400, which is nearly my entire MP pool. I unlocked but almost never use Dagan- any mob I'd be able to get TP on obviously isn't a threat with AoE moves so I just default to MB. Spirit Taker usually returns more MP at 1000 than Myrkr; >2000 I'd go with Myrkr. ST is also subject to missing, which Myrkr isn't. Myrkr is self-targeted, so as long as you can draw your weapon you can use it.

Hmm. Thanks for that, Prim. I have Wildfire ready, and my COR is only lvl 80, but besides brd and drk (lol) I don't have anything else beyond the 50s, so I think I'll wait and save til I decide what to level next.

Check rewards if there is something you want and there are certainly some gems in there especially for people coming back since a lot of it is sidegrades of things you might not have. As far as what else to do with your points if you haven't already I'd suggest switching to Apururu unity. Also you can buy refractive crystals from the npc for 15k accolades each which can be used to reaugment capes

It's pretty much never worth it to spend accolades on crystals, they aren't expensive.
