I'm in the middle of downloading the update files not through PoL because I don't have 16 hours of my life to waste. Does anyone have the .rar files from August 2014 until now? Those are the ones I'm missing and all the links on this forums have been removed or the files are corrupt. I just don't want to wait for a year of updates

It's not as bad as you'd think. I got a new laptop about a year ago and it took like 3 hours to update from POL. Just make sure never to do something like that when a game update drops lol

Took me about five or six hours but I had a lot to update since its a new laptop and well I have no memory of my old account (attached to hotmail and I been using gmail for years now that's how long I haven't played )

Speaking of putting ffxi on new comps... I'm about to get a new desktop and don't really feel like thru the whole download, install and update. Can I just copy the Playonline folder from my current copy and copy it to new one?

Kinda. There are registry entries and such, so the simple (if slightly more time intensive) thing to do is to do the basic install, then copy your already-patched folder over top of it. It'll need to do a file check, but should be good to go after that.

If you have a batch file or something that can set the other stuff up, then that'd be faster - never had it all quite work for me though.

Do the basic CD installs, then just copy paste all your ROM folders over.

Then do a POL file check and you'll probably have a handful of other things to download.

CD installs should only take like 30 mins, coping roms another 15 mins, then the final patch up another 15 mins. Should only take one an hour to install a fresh ffxi install on a new comp.

Uh oh... Anyone remember a way to get to Jeuno from Bastok without needing Rank 5? sorry to ask here but I was so stoked to try my hand on BLU and I think that just got shattered somehow. I know RDM so I can play that but was really looking forward to a BLU and not to doing RDM again. If not guess i need to level to 70... ouch...
