When it was first announced I saw so much bitching about it lol, I guessed it would be crap anyway and it seems true. They just really want to stray from people being able to buy 119 right off the AH and equip it but its just as easy to get 119 anywhere else.

Honestly, it depends on your gear level. Newbie 99? It's gonna go slow and you're going to be doing stuff like Ceziak mandragoras.

I usually tell people to go Ceziak/Yahse (mandies/twithyrms) -> Marjami Ravine (twithryms, right near the ending CS for the Climbing KI) -> Escha Zi'Tah (efts, puks, etc) -> Escha Ru'Ann (whatever you enjoy blowing up, but I like the Aerns at the beginning because no rare spawns that'll screw you up).

Of course, if you can get a BST friend, you can just camp Zi'Tah #2, have someone drag in half the monsters, and proceed to Sensilla Blades/AoE nuke the place for a JP or two each pull.

How would I go about calculating TP gain for a job that dual wields weapons when you factor in DW, Store TP, weapon delay, etc?

Found some TP/swing# calculators, but they seem tailored to SAM and don't factor in DW.

In a way not much has changed. Some missions you'll want to go thru if only for the cp bonuses. Tons more cp to grind out. Some new content that isn't too much different than old once you learn the mechanics though personally I think sinister reign is pretty cool since you are fighting all your soa mission friends. Kind of like those random special battles but with gear. Think you were still around when alluvion stuff came out? It's still pretty good though think some have been kicked out of BiS so no need to worry about your being horrible I think. Mechanics wise... sch skillchaining with lots of people MBing is rather popular now like seeing tons of 50k-99999 blm/smn mbs even on higher lvl stuff. Meleeing is rather unpopular since a lot of hard content basically needs vex/attunement for meleeing to be good. Several jobs have gotten decent buffs/nerfs but don't think they were the ones you mained

Meleeing is only unpopular on the highest tier of content. Everything else you can use a melee np. Highest tier would consist mainly of T3 Ru'an(maybe Zitah) and Kirin/AV.

Oh trusts have changed a bit. Now some of the healers (as well as a couple blm/rng types) will try to stay at a decent range. Not as good as a real healer but will help them avoid a lot of AoEs though can be hilarious if they get hate. And August and Amchuchu tank good enough that during the campaigns you can actually use them to tank most of the content until you get to the highest tiers

All of the NQ values should be filled in, last I checked. Take those base stats like STR/VIT/attack/accuracy and multiply by 20-25% and thats roughly your HQ stats. Other stats like refresh/double and triple attack have 1 more than their NQ counterpart.

So part of me wants to start completely over and experience everything one more time. Is this possible though with the lack of people? Can I feasibly solo everything? What about the new content, does that need groups to complete? Thanks!

You will need to group for most of the Escha content and some of the SoA content. Pretty much everything else can be done solo although having friends and knowing people will make your life much easier (and enjoyable.)

For almost everything you do (1-99 content, non-ilvl), trusts are more than enough to get you through it. Starting over completely from scratch is doable with records of eminence system, since you can NPC spark items for gil and playing frequently will get you a good chunk of spending cash easily. If there's no plans on dualboxing, maybe leveling something like BST will help you solo lots of things rather easily I believe.

Also, if you start now then there are some very good trusts you can acquire right away, one of them being king of hearts (haste II at higher level).

Luckily I still have my old char, I'm starting fresh out of choice but still have some gil around. Trusts seem simple enough to figure out and I was around for GOH and FOH. The only thing that still seems overwhelming by looking at the wiki is records of eminence. What kind of stuff should I be targeting when doing that if I'm just trying to 1-99?

For me, I permanently set all crystals and the "Vanquish Multiple Enemies I" objective, since those are repeatable. Depending on where you exp, you can set the objective specific to that zone. Say you're doing kuftal, then you can set "Conflict: Kuftal Tunnel" under Combat > Zilart. Then you can choose to remove it if you no longer exp there (or keep it, you have 30 slots).

Other than that, most stuff under Combat (General) aren't repeatable so you set them once and just chug along till they finish. I don't touch 90% of the objectives really.

Since you know about grounds of valor, then you should hit 99 really fast I'd say. Killing those book objectives + roe objective means you can get 99 in a few days of grind. That smooths out your experience for completing story related stuff.

This month, it's weighted more towards equipment, which'll mean some occasional interesting bits.

-Do- use the Adoulin dial every day on said gobbiebox. It's free and the stuff you get will basically serve as a jumpstart when you hit 99.
