In my experience, a chest lower than rank 5 will never have 4+ PDT/MDT. You'll see less augmented rings capping it, but you won't see any good ones if you don't.

Is it possible to solo hard mode missions or are trusts not allowed in them? Trying to get my nooblet sam back up to gear but so fucking many variables now compared to 10 years ago. 119 emp or bust till better gear?
How do you read the rest of a gear's stats, like those below the inverted triangle? I'm on keyboard.
is there an easy way to find all new/changed things since SoA release, i want to come back with some rl friends to finish the new stroy (we stopped before SoA release) and we would like to read about all the "new" stuff and any tips which jobs would be best to duo the new content with 4 trusts? we have almost all jobs at 99, but nothing is geared we would like to play DD's (since the trusts are good at healing?) i had a lvl 80 apo but never upgraded it because it was to hard/expensive for me back then, not sure if it would be even wort to play drk / upgrade it now with all the things that changed
Trusts are usable, so to a point, it's more a matter of what difficulty you can do them on. 119'ing Empyrean gear will require Vagary wins, so it's not really the most readily obtainable stopgap per se. Alluvion Skirmish tends to be popular for an easy route to 119 armor - at least makes you more durable, even if not well augmented. If you know a decently geared player or two, T1 Zi'Tah are probably also fairly easy for them to solo/duo, though I don't know that the sets there are good for SAM (not a lot of STP).
I don't know of one that's been kept up to date. BGWiki has this one, which may include some thing that are new to you.Originally Posted by Heslon
I'd say overall that trusts tend to fill in for support more competently than they do DD - select ones can tank fairly well too. The DD ones fall well short of players, and the BRDs/etc are all over the place. Trusts are -good-, but are designed to complement real players, not replace them. Personally, I would not have both of you play DDs and rely on trusts for everything else. Having one of you that can proactively/defensively buff, stay out of AoE, and so on could make a big difference in some fights. If I'm doing dual box + trusts, I usually use BLU and GEO.
For missions and stuff, whatever DD you like probably works. Higher end, more DD has shifted to SC/MB, which can be done from the backline with Immanence SCs from SCH. When melee DD is viable, it's usually favoring things like BLU or DNC, as the ACC requirements are significant, and 2h DD struggle to meet them.
I'm not exactly a new or returning player, but did SE remove the item restoration GM call type from the Help Desk? None of the reasons you can give for calling a GM fall into line with it.
tossing this in so maybe it will help someone:
the absolute best thing you can do if you're just coming back (or making a mule) is get level 5, complete one of Trust: Bastok/San d'Oria/Windurst, do the Records of Eminence tutorial/basics objective sequence for trusts, acquire 3 bee pollen/mandragora dewdrop, and then complete Rhapsodies of Vana'diel 1-7.
(if you purchase bee pollen from AH or login campaign and use Urbiolaine/Igsli/Teldro-Kesdrodo unity wanted teleport to valkurm dunes, then you can do all of this at level 5.)
you will now be able to summon: mihli cureskin whm, joachim brd, adelheid nuking sch, valaineral tank. tank/buffer/nuker/whm + player(any job) will get you through a lot of things.
Ah I see, thank you
Anyone have an idea of how I might be able to recover my FFXI account? I sold it and wouldn't mind buying it back. I still remember the POL login and have a CD key somewhere I think.
You could reclaim it from the person you sold it to, but if that person is unaware you are doing so and/or doesn't wish to give it back, that would be a shitty thing of you to do.
The game is so ridiculously easy to pick up from scratch now, you might as well do that.
Check the name on ffxiah and see if it has bought anything last 3 months. If it isn't being used, can just reclaim it without being a tool.
Of course if the person who bought it might have gotten it banned too.
Even if they haven't bought anything in 3 months, they might have changed servers.
Was enmity ever refigured out since the last big update to it?
