proof: main char mostly 80/80, ~15 slips mostly full, 27s zone load time. mule char, same storages mostly 80/80, 0 slips, 17s zone load time.

KIs also add to your zone load time, so that garden pet OCD you have is increasing your load time as well. lol

So I'm slowly but surely trying to gear up NIN. Taikogane/Shigi are my current Katanas. I had OAT & Store TP+5 because I only had the one KI. I killed the giant bird and can replace the Store TP+5 with Acc+15 or Crit Hit Rate+4%...what's better?

Basically, if you can't hit it, it doesn't matter what else...so at least early on, go with +Acc.

How feasable is it to solo a HTB on normal, like AA Mithra, for the clear to get one of those 119 JSE weapons? I kinda want the TH dagger to main with my eminent or stack with knife/AF2 if it helps, and possibly farm Dynamis if I still like playing after doing WotG and RoV. I kind of want to make a Mandau because I was never able to do a relic back in the day, giving away mad currency on first two quits.

I have sparks THF and BST with no real notable equipment that has withstood the test of time. Same goes for Trusts, I just bought the CoP chick that AOE weaponskills stuff, which was pretty fun times while doing a short stint of farming puks and dragons at Escha Zi'tah.

HTBs on N are generally pretty feasible for some jobs with decent gear/etc. Not sure sparks gear would cut it though, or if AAs would be the easiest to attempt. Certainly something you can work up to, but I would try to get i119 first (even unaugmented Alluvion stuff, for base improvements). Or, if you know folks that never quit or have been back playing longer, they can probably knock one out for you easily.

Just a heads up that soloing Mithra can be dicey, as she can charm you, and your trusts could go poof.

Thanks for the advice guys. I don't have SoA as of now, but chances are after I do WotG and RoV, I'll end up buying it to cap off the journey. I plan on bumming off some bored linkshell folks to get some of the RoV/Unity drops at some point.

Are there any tricks to learning blue magic? This seems like it's taking way longer than it should to even learn a few spells.

Magus Bazubands and killing the mob immediately after the move animation of the spell you want to learn is complete. Other than that, basically luck.

Superstition probably. Learned some off stunned moves, myself, so finishing isn't required. Otherwise have your skill leveled and pray. Sometimes RNG blows.

If you're just starting out with it, also keep in mind that your Blue Magic skill needs to be within a few level's worth of when the spell can be used. +Skill gear can expand that, if applicable, but if you're trying to learn your first few spells at all you may need to start with the very lowest level ones (or use some skill books).

I booked my skill up to the 70s or so. The number of spells I care to learn is small, but at this rate I might as well finish BLM AF so I can start BLU AF. Took the better part of an hour to not learn Foot Kick last night...
