OK so a couple more questions. What's the deal with some people having 3 stars over their heads? Also, are there any jobs that aren't much use? I read THF has never gotten much love, but are there others that got nerfed or weren't made viable?

3 stars over their name means they have reached 2100 job points spent on that job (mostly just shows they REALLY like playing that job).
As mentioned, the stars indicate Job Master status, meaning capped Job Points. How useful the individual categories are varies by job, but you also get Gifts for total upgrades applied, and some of the landmarks ones of those (100, 550, 1200) may also be significant. The cumulative effects of others (like +ACC, +MDB, etc) are similar to ilevel increases. The only real benefit at 2100JP itself, at least so far, is that SP ability timers are reduced to 45 minutes instead of an hour.
Job use, as always, depends on context. THF is probably in the same-ish position it has been for nearly all of the game. There was a short period after WS adjustments when they were ridiculously strong, but that was about it.
Probably the major trend has been WS adjustments and ACC traits/gear/etc not really favoring two-handers. While melee in general falls off for the highest end content, 2h DD will start to struggle sooner, and require more support to make work.
Again - thank you for the replies. Shame about 2-handers. I really loved my SAM. I've been playing on my NIN since I've been back the past week or whatever. The Trust concept is absolutely amazing, and I love it.
Sorry if asked and answered.
Can you Dbox Ciphers, specifically, Cipher: August? Or Mog Kupons from Bonanza?

*note this list isn't updated all the time and sometimes they forget about newly added to the game stuff like from log in campaigns though said campaigns usually tell you if something isn't
What really annoys me is Beastmens Seals etc. can't be moved. Else I'd do endless amounts of Up in Arms. I know the drop rates, but I'm gonna try for it anyway. But until I have all my ciphers on my main, I'm not gonna do anything but that, and other important items. On my 2 mules I'll get a beastly shank.
Odesseiron.. where do I know that name.. do you have legs?
Sorry to re-bump this after a dumb post, but 2 questions regarding dat stuff/windower. Is xi view still a thing? Last I saw it was updated in 2013, and didn't work anymore. Has someone else taken the helm?
Also, regarding draw distance. I have it set to load automatically, but ctrl+f10 doesn't work, nor can I figure out the exact command to get it running. Anyone able to offer insight?
I knew you were same scrub that used to talk shit back on Midgard about parses with Dave and I. It's cool you still play, should come to Asura.

This is the latest version of XI-View, if you use an older one your game will constantly crash.
You can do like //drawdistance set 100 or something like that iirc
I've been wondering about windower. Was it easy for you to get it back up and running? Is it a lot better than it was like 4-/5 years ago?
As for Iorha's eyes, they are rather large, aren't they? She's a cutey though! Just did LB yesterday to unlock leveling to 95 (weirdest LB ever.) Been forced into ToAH *and* WotG just so I can advance RoV. I don't mind too much, though. With Trusts it's actually not even been a problem. The only thing that's pissed me off is the absolutely stupid "wait until JP midnight" b.s. in the ToAH story line. SE should have gotten rid of that years ago. Nothing sucks more than artificial roadblocks when you're having fun. Also unlocked tons of Trust NPCs. Got my bundle of scrolls key item to unlock even more of them, too!
It's amazing being back after so long, and realizing how much I missed this game. The improvements SE has made to quality of life have really been the only reason I came back. I loved FFXI back in the day when there were thousands playing, and the insane grinds. But these days I've been spoiled by other MMOs where you can literally click on a point on a map, and go there (here's looking at you, GW2.) There's still enough decently-challenging content, and running around to do in order to not be a complete push-over (again, here's looking at you GW2, lol.) Looking forward to hitting the "new" SoA areas! (New for me, anyway.)
So i was doing Neo-Nyzul with my brother... While going up a floor I was hit or something and Event Skipped and some error happened where he went up to the next floor but I didn't... Lamp become untargetable.
I could run around on the empty floor, but could not use items, could not log out, couldn't /sit or do certain emotes... I was just completely stuck on that floor. He even EXITED and i remained in there, and the countdown stopped an it wouldn't boot me. So I had to shutdown POL (since I couldn't log out or shut down...) and reboot it.
Logged back on, It teleported me to floor 60, gave me my key item and tokens, then booted me... woo
Edit: On the bright side our haul was good... Calio Rod(AAEV) and Passion Jacket(Escha JoL) among them.
Easiest way to farm Alexandrite?
Kind of depends on job but basically just go to any of the 99 zones except the one still on once per day lock out (Bhaflau I think not sure) and zoom thru the first few floors getting any major unlocks for your job then farm gears/bosses. Exit repeat. Get some kind of movement speed as half of this is running
II zones are the 99 zones and yes they are much better than the old lvl 75 zones. If only because you don't have to deal with cells lol
