Oh yeah totally forget about Runs getting love for Rayke
can confirm well geared SMN is pain in the ass.
Very unfun, and confusing ._., I cant even keep up with BIS anymore on it.
It's not really that confusing, it just relies on augments. Typically its HQ apogee > Helios good Augs / NQ apogee, and merlinic hands are BIS. Staff is Griavior from T2 reisenjima hydra for magic and phy is perf aug keranos or you can just use espiritus if you don't wanna augment. All this information is readily available on ffxiah job forums, with other jobs too.
Theoretically perfect merlinic will win on head and body. Legs is apogee +1 and feet is idk (would the couple extra bpd outweigh stat boost?). This is solely due to the 15 str or int merlinic can get. Realistically, you won't ever see this.
Perfect helios phys build could possibly be best in a high acc or af/ac situation. Stacking crit hit damage is pretty powerful.
Apogee +1 is only good when you have two or more pieces, best slots would be legs and feet, head has acc so it is nice.
In terms of feasibility (effort and finances considered, hardest to easiest)...
Perfect merlinic, multiple apogee +1, perfect helios, multiple nq apogee (abj, cursed and lixir), middling helios, middling merlinic.
Easiest path is probably to pick either hq or nq apogee or merlinic based on your finances. Full apogee +1 is around 300m, nq is 30mish? And merlinic is cheapest.
Never thought the day would come when I have no idea what any of these acronyms mean
I'm just amazed at the job hierarchy changing so drastically. Hell, in the Reisenjima mega thread, I saw pup being used as a tank, how does that even work?
Mages > Paladin > Melee > Ranger
Just reactivated over the weekend for the first time since Adoulin's second update. I am 99 WHM and BST (nothing over i99 but a few random Delve pieces) and have been mostly running around unlocking Trusts and Home Points. I read the "new and returning players" guides lying around and came upon this thread looking for a little more insight. From many previous comments, I see that I should be focusing on RoV missions for bonuses though I am not sure where to start in terms of gear progression.
Also how player-heavy is endgame these days? I loved Abyssea since you could low-man most content though was wondering how the current meta was like.
I resubbed today and I have no idea where to start. I went around tagging home points and picked up a few trusts. Then cycled through all the Sparks stuff in the menu but didn't spent any. Also went and unlocked job points and Unity. Other than that I don't know what to do next.
I had quit at some point through Adoulin. Basically after 3 Delves, I cleared those and then quit. So not sure what to do now.
Do what I'm doing. At least to start. Finish all the missions including SoA, then move onto Rhapsodies of Vanadiel, get as many trusts as you can, you may still be able to get enough login points for one or two of this monthly login bonus ones.
With completing RoV and going through the menu completing the sparks stuff you have done (mostly the story) you unlock huge bonuses towards xp/merits/capacity points. That should keep you busy for a bit. If it you're still on Asura like it says in your profile, join the reddit linkshell. They're busy and always have a couple folks willing to help. I'm gonna head over there next week most likely.
I agree with this for the most part. I'd suggest doing as many as the Rhaposides missions as you can, the rewards/bonuses are just too huge and makes a lot of content easier/spammable/cheaper than without in addition to huge exp/cp bonuses. That'll also give you the max number of trusts slots. Knock out all the missions to your hearts content pre SOA. Then do SOA after you're done with Rhapsodies as it's not a huge reward gain overall compared to the difficulty of everything else.
Doing rhapsodies will open up all the escha/reisen zones and can be solo'd in mediocre gear pretty far (with trusts). The last chapter and maybe one of the final fights of the previous one are the only things that may require some help.
/my two cents after coming back relatively recently and not having finished WoTG or even zoning into Aduolin prior. Knocking out the Rhapsodies first was a huge help to me. I finished SoA maybe a month ago and besides a shiny ring, didnt really notice a huge help to my overall game to make me say do it ASAP.
Just did RoV last night up until I had to go to work. It looks like I need to do the Cait Sith fight to continue. Think it is doable with all i99 gear with trusts? lol
Easily. He went down in seconds for me. It's so weak it's pathetic.
Man that first RoV mission took an hour of killing bees! I forgot how bad drop rates were.
What's the best thing to dump sparks into? I'm capped out
Some of the sparks lv.99 gear is worth having if you haven't gotten it yet, especially the accessories. If you just want gil you can get Bahadurs or Shields from the 75-99 category or whatever.
Also IIRC that dumb mission at the beginning of RoV is the only one requiring farming for low drop rate items. I have no idea why they thought that was a good idea at this point in the game, but at least its not as bad as some of the CoP sidequests where you farm low drop rate items from stuff that can only be fished up on one of the rafts or some shit.
Are any of the Rem's Tales worth getting? Or is the gear it gives not good anymore?
Pretty much what JSE has always been, a lot of it is just good macro-in gear and some select pieces are really good. Though I don't think it's worth it in the least to spend sparks on them. If you play any length of time you'll get enough seals to farm a few ch. 1-5 for yourself and you'll get tons and tons of 6-10 naturally if you try to get random gear from high level battlefields.
