My bro is thinking about coming back since me and my friend did and was wondering how if non aegis/ochain plds were viable at all? He also had leveled Rune Fencer though people were not really sure what to do with it when it first came out.
I mained WHM/BST/SCH and He mostly played war/sam/mnk/pld/run though none were geared outside the norm. Any suggestions on which he should focus on if we were looking to mostly lowman what we could to try and catch up on gear.
Run can do quite a lot and is really strong at the moment. Most fights require Aegis paladin these days with only a handful using Ochain.
I would suggest he works on RUN. Doing all the AF/Relic/Empy gear then getting the empy to 119 basically will give him a full working tank set right out of the gate with not too much effort. You can farm sparks or BCNM for the chapters.
As for your jobs, if he plays RUN and you play SCH or BST there is quite a lot of content you'll be able to duo with trusts. Unity trust healers are actually pretty decent.
Just wondering If any old Titan server guys are still around, thinking of coming back to waste some of my free time. Titan got merged into Phoenix didn't it?
Thanks for the info. My sch wasn't super geared outside for nuking though I remember doing Nyzul a bunch with capped (at the time anyways) enhancing set. I assume everything is gimped now anyways and it will be a learning experience either way ;p
Mostly been on BST since I came back and loving how much damage pets do now though still rocking Bayld gear. Got up to the last RoV by myself though may need to look for help on it as it seems harder than the rest lol.
Just getting back into the game. I took a break after skirmish first came out so I have the lol 113 gear, looking forward should I be aiming at alluvion gear (since it is easy to solo) or is escha gear fairly easy too?
Lower tier Escha gear is fairly easy, but probably only once you're decently geared. If you've got an empty LS and friend list, Alluvion and reforges are likely your best bet for 119 pieces. On the other hand, if you happen to know someone that'd help you out, I'd skip to Escha gear rather than spend much time/gil on skirmish randomness.
He wont be able to get Empy to 119 unless he get a Vagary clear party, you need a different NM for each upgrade as far as I know. But sound advice!
Should also be noted aside from Reisin gear, the Taeon/Etc Sets are still BIS for pet jobs, if you have pet jobs.
If not then yeah, jump to Escha - Zi'Tah if you got the friends, those gear sets are particularly good.
Yeah, there are still other niche sets too (+enhancing duration for example) that Alluvion is useful for. The system does let you mix/match stats better than other augment systems.
I didn't mean to imply someone would never want to do it, just that the narrow drop lists and guaranteed augments from Zi'Tah gear and such would be a better place to start, if feasible.
Most of the Zi'Tah sets are not that focused either, and don't make ideal full sets. So, yeah, you're right, I needed to clarify that it's not an end-all. I mean it more as a short-term, get into i119 gear type thing. Getting LS mates out of Sparks or whatnot, I've tended to bring them to Zi'Tah rather than Skirmish. Just makes more sense to me.
Well the plus point of getting Alluvion Skirmish gear is that it's braindead to solo as long as your have coupons to convert into fragments. And it's also generally a profit / break even depending on your willingness to sell on the stones you get.
What's the fastest NM for a solo BST (Aymur, 2100JP, etc) to cap out Escha Beads at 50,000?
Thank you for the advise, almost 5/5 of all the alluvion gear now. Just wanted to make sure I was placing effort in something worthwhile since my server is fairly dead when it comes to NA players. It's a good and bad thing, good for making gil and easy farming dynamis for a relic, bad for anything requiring more than a party.
So which of the high tier battlefields (AA's, Ouryu, etc) for pages/plutons/etc. Are soloable (with trusts)? I tried AAHume this morning on DRK and got him down to about 50% and then got wrecked with his WS. Though I probably didn't let my trust build enough hate.
Most of my jobs at 99 (SCH,NIN,MNK,PLD,DRK,SAM etc) only have sparks gear as I'm just coming back to the game. I'm trying to get more pages and plutons and such to get my gear more updated, but not sure which route to take. My LS isn't all that active so I'm sort of on my own. Can't get new gear without people, and people don't want you without gear.
I would say AAs are generally more difficult, so I wouldn't make too many assumptions based on that experience. Offhand, most of those really benefit from having shadows, if you do want to tackle them.
A fair number can be made substantially easier if you can boost your magic evasion. I rely more on using Vex/Attune on my alt, but stuff like PLD, RUN or RDM and possibly Miso Ramen or something may work well too. Avatars, obviously, Dawn, O/U, Ouryu, probably others.
Obviously too, getting into 119 pieces over sparks will help in that area too. Just in general, quite a lot of content these days benefits from higher magic evasion, and higher ilevel really makes a noticeable difference for that.
Yeah tried the AA and wiped at 1% haha, since AA Hume ended up killing the WHM trust, so it went downhill from there pretty quick.
Need some NA homies to hook me up on Asura too! All the people I played with are European but I emigrated when I quit (well that was the main reason I quit actually) so I only get to see them on weekends.
I just came back and I am looking for a way to farm Plutons for my Anni(10k joy...). Most members in my LS are EU and we only have about 4-5 on at a time. Not many people doing shouts on my server for battlefields so I am just wondering if there is a feasible way to do it.
If you don't care about drops from the fight then there's actually a real incentive to team up with other people since everybody's personal loot pool will be boosted when you do a higher difficulty level.
