Also I am so sad I didn't realize how good the WKR campaign was until Saturday night. Only got a day of spamming it in and was too tired after work tonight to log in. Made 18m from it in like 6 hours only half paying attention/watching TV. I still have a ton of skirmish/craft mats hoarded too. That could have easily been 100m+ if I had known all week it was so good!

if you get a midas helm +1, rock the adoulin sigil and get crafting skill up fodd + the adoulin skill up ring (one of the 12 rings for completing adoulin missions), you will skill up very very very fast. add the fishing backpiece

To clarify, it's more like 11; a synth that used to cap at 30 will now cap at 41. You can hit 110 on anything that's 99 and up. There is a decline in skill up rate as you go further above the old caps, however.

The exact wording iirc was you can skillup up 10 levels above the cap. Which confuses some people who just see 10

Having an issue with a friend who recently came back.
He is unable to unlock Empyrean +1 reforge at Monisette, despite having killed all 5 Vagary Bosses.
What other pre-requisite is there? I can't find anything on BG-wiki.
He has 5/5 AF109, Relic 109 and Empy 109.

Job is GEO, so that means he didn't have to get the original pieces in Abyssea, could that be the cause? I can't think of anything he might need in addition to the 5 vagary bosses.

Was he alive and in title range when he killed the bosses? Did he do the RoEs involved with them? Did he try talking to Monisette several times in a row without zoning, to see if she mentions it?

Just some ideas.

He has completed all 5 RoEs and yes he was alive and in range.
He tried talking to Monisette and Sagheera multiple times, with and without zoning.

I dunno, I think it has to be something about the fact that he's trying to upgrade GEO's Empy which is "special" and not obtained through Abyssea.
Maybe there's some other abyssea pre-req that none of us oldies noticed because we all had some degree of Abyssea completition?

I'd say maybe it's limbus related but you'd think that would have kicked in at the 109 upgrades. Abyssea is a good call though, maybe need to have killed Shinryu

How was he able to upgrade to an Empy item to 109 without having done that quest? I mean you need that quest to get the base Empy item anyway plus to get the 109 items.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see GEO isn't gotten through Abyssea (which was expected). But I thought the 109 part would at least be the same, I guess you get it at that ilvl?

RUN and GEO Empy still can (and likely usually does) involve Abyssea since you need Isgebind hearts or Dragua scales (respectively) as part of the item list to turn in for each piece. Did your friend maybe side-step that by turning in HP Bayld instead?

One question because... I'm really considering returning to start crying/accepting that the nostalgia is no longer there. Currently steam has the seekers edition for $20 on sale til the 7th. How does steam work as far as acquiring the cd keys? It would be my first MMO purchase through steam, and my SE/POL account has up to WotG registered.

Don't 100% quote me on this, but afaik, you get the reg key through steam. You can go through POL and make your SE account (if you don't have one, in this case you do) and can just download the game from whatever site and run it. I don't think you're bound to run it in Steam. You can just take that key, apply it to your current account, and it unlocks the rest of the expansions. I'm almost positive though you can do it like that.

Though the nostalgia isn't there anymore, you can still do plenty of stuff. I'm on Ragnarok if you want to hit me up. I came back fairly recently, so I don't know everything, but I did all the expansions and when it was out a few years ago, Abyssea. So I know most of what's going on. Thought of transferring to Asura too, just to be with a lot more people and a lively server, cause while not as dead as some, there are still times you have entire zones to yourself.
