I logged in yesterday after the long update, i quit in port jeuno. I so forgot how to get to whitegate i'm so damn overwhelmed i dono what to do. How to 75-99 on thf/rng/war/nin etc. game opened up w/ cutscenes lol.

Quickest way is if you don't have the home point shortcuts (which you probably don't) is by trading 300 gil to one of the Whitegate shortcut NPC's or whatever in Jeuno. I remember one being in Upper Jeuno by the entrance. If that helps!

Touch every home point crystal you encounter, even some in the same zone. You can save a lot of time by enabling all of them. There's tons of options for getting around now.

I just obtained "Cipher: Joachim" via Records of Eminence and attempted to trade it to each of the Trust quest NPCs (all 3 quests are completed) and nothing happens. This is after successfully trading the ciphers obtain in the prior parts of this RoE chain.

I did multiple searches and see that some ciphers have quest/mission limitations on when they can be traded in, but nothing for Joachim. Has anyone run into this or a similar issue? I even tried advancing the Abyssea quests (although not at the end yet) and still no luck.

...Do you have him as a trust already? This is the only thing that has stopped me from trading a cipher in.

No problem. I struggled with the same shit before when I didn't get a response from the NPC after trading it in; eventually gave up and assumed that was the answer for all the trusts I didn't get a response out of.

So i've been just collecting homepoints, i didn't realize i quit the game with only 200k gil, how easy is it to make money now? Still have thf at 75, i want to start doing all the quests to start lvling fast and get some trusts. I unlocked some mini xpac quests, but that's about it. Just as a reference, i quit at the end of wotg, but i never got around to finishing toau or wotg.

Is there a package of files I can download to skip the file check on the update? I haven't played in a few years and was surprised how easy it was to get logged back in. I doubt I'll play for long, but I'll do some wandering around.

Do Records of eminence quests for sparks.
Then buy the most expensive item to npc repeatedly. Capped sparks = about 1 million gil.
There should be a thread on the front page somewhere that has a plugin/addon you can use to buy items quickly instead of being stuck in menus.

So, was looking to see if I could solo a Rala skirmish to get a Claidheamh Soluis. After killing some fodder, the chair NM popped. I wound up losing due to intimidate/terror spam, but I'm wondering if the sword drops from a specific RNG NM or if that's the one that'll always pop? Because, yeah, I hate being gimp. ;_;

You can do the RoE to kill mobs in rala and get a coupon to exchange for the weapon now if you didn't do that yet

What are the kupons for from them? Can you just get a weapon, or can you also get armor with a different ROE too from Yorcia? I'm actually asking for a friend, though I may take advantage of that for jobs that I don't care about that could use something to work with.

Honestly, it's a pretty good set of kupons, especially for new and returning players that even takes care of dual wield jobs. I wish it existed earlier when I spammed alluvion yorcia for several hours trying to get a third butterfly for a weapon on my mule. By the time I got it, I had 13 butterflies on my main :\

Kinda sad not a single person i used to play with plays anymore on ragnarok. I loved traveling around once again. I think i'm gonna kill argus and stop playing. Pretty much all i'm doing is nostalgiabombing, hell i'm pretty happy about that tbh.

It honestly is a slog if you log in after years away with no clue what to do and nobody to ask for help. I'd recommend, if you don't know anyone still playing, check the linkshell concierge in Adoulin and pick up a shell. It's probably gonna be all casuals but at least you'll have people to shoot the shit with and ask questions to. And most will be willing to help you. Start on RoEs and getting Trusts and doing Rhapsodies for the bonuses. Everything else will come in time.

Thinking of returning, and I had a question after reading about Job Points on the wiki. Gifts that are enhancements, such as Elemental Magic Skill bonus or Triple Attack Chance that have multiple levels: are they additive, or does the higher level one replace the lower (i.e. is the total magic skill gain 5+8+10+13, or is it just 13?)
