75 to 99 in a few hours no problem. Depends if you can find a good exp alliance hehe.
af3 gear you can solo most thing with ninja99 or dnc, or bst prob would work fine too. or duo with dd + whm.

You can get from lv 30-99 in a day so 80-99 plus recapping new merits should be no problem. The real trouble is finding nongimps for maximum efficiency since one friend who came back reported that his drk in his old 75 cap gear was beating most people in pickup exp alliances. af3 gear is fairly easy if you have help. if you can 2 man it then a whm/blm and a DD(preferably a thf for th) can get 2/3 of the procs on any day where light/dark is a proc.
I don't understand any of that but OKAY! And jesus fuck my eyes bleed with nostalgia at dat playonline music. @_@
EDIT: Do you have to buy abyssea? And how do you go about that?
EDIT EDIT: HHHHRRRRRRRNNNNNNNGGGGG more money than I thought..... is that double EXP thing still going?
It just started today until Monday morning I think
6am PST Friday to Monday 6am PST.
9 hours remaining. Good times.
EDIT: Yay i'm back in game! Windower keeps crashing on startup though right after XI starts and I hit "accept" to the terms and what not. Idk whats up with that. :/
Probably your recast plugin.
Nothing better than coming back to an dead shell.
Got some spare money again and planning to reactivate. Worried about Adoulin though.
I originally had a JP POL and SE Account from game launch, but last year I got it converted to an American one, yet my POL ID still shows JP by it.

The only way to pay the fee, with the regional payment restrictions, was to get it linked to an NA account. It was my understanding that EU users who bought NA versions of the game before the EU release with Aht Urhgan were given a one-time option to convert their accounts to EU ones so they could use local currency and expansion codes. I thought that was supposed to be the case with my account too, but the [JP] by it worries me. Which region do I buy the expansion from? This is the first one to come out since my conversion.
its a big mess that noone knows to answer actually since the square-enix account got introduced too. I preordered now US version of adoulin (because my original FFXI version was US), however: when i wanted to link my SE account (EU) to my PLO account (US) for the token I had huge problems and needed to resolve that by sending a email blablablabla, 1 month later I could link them, my SE account is EU, to what my PLO account was changed I cant say.
I remember pre SE accounts that I couldnt use the code of the EU WotG version to my US PLO version. Shit is big giant mess, I am just hopeing for the best basicly -_-
Ok so I return with another question. Came back a month ago, new character - since then I've taken WAR and DNC to 99, got some atmas, got some good AH gear, and a few rare/ex pieces to start me off.
Now I've pretty much realized that if I want to be useful in abyssea, I need a mage leveled. I'm wondering if I should just spend time skilling up all my weapons on WAR (can I be useful even without atma of discernment?) or if I'll benefit from lvling BLM or WHM.
Any advice would be awesome..I know its a stupid question and a matter of opinion but I want some input. Will WAR be useful enough to get me places? BLM? WHM? Whats a good "get shit for other jobs" job?
War is one of the few jobs that is always in demand because of it's versatility. It can tank (what can't now a days though) it can dd, it can proc red for KI to pop other nms for +2 upgrading items, it can proc most blue if you need it for gear (depending what time of game day you are in and what type of damage is currently the trigger.) Capping all weapons will be good for you to do also, because you may need them for Voidwatch, it's got a similar but slightly different proc than Abyssea.
Whm is always nice for Abyssea, and blm really only useful for getting yellow proc for seals and +2 items, or for building azure light.
I was afraid of that ever since the account "conversion". My worry was spending the money on importing it and having it tell me the code won't work, and having to buy the expansion again, while not knowing many people with JP accounts still that I could sell the code to.
Yeah, I was in the same seat but with NA/EU. I bought the NA version of the Ultima edition, and that worked for me. (NA POL, EU SE account)
So I'm thinking of returning for SoA. Before I quit, I spent the last few months working on my Maats and just running around having fun. I was no where near best geared and hadn't done shit for Voidwatch.
Last scan on FFXIAH before I let my account lapse:

What is a good way to make money now that they've nerfed Cruor to gil conversions?
What would be harder, to gear up a melee job or to gear up a mage job? Either or is going to pretty much have to start from scratch to get to 'optimal' for now adays I'm sure.
#1 Where is the cheapest place to get the abyssea collection (UK)? And is there a method of downloading/getting it to work that doesn't require steam? I've read that getting it to work with steam is a hassle.
#2 Worth waiting for the seekers collection, even though it'll be like £30? Or would it be cheaper to buy the abyssea one and seekers seprately?
I'm not 100% sure on coming back yet, but if i do it would be to take the game at a much slower pace and chill out with it more than i used to if that's even possible now. Are the security tokens still buyable? I wouldn't be having to buy a new account if RMT hadn't hacked it and gotten it banned 6 months after i quit :/
At the moment, you can either buy the add-ons individually for $9.99 each, or buy an all-in-one code for $19.99. Those are pretty much the only options, but the all in one occasionally drops to 9.99 or 5.99 for a sale.
The good news is it doesn't require a download; all add-on content is handled through regular updates.
