If you want to get around quicker in the past, recall rings/retrace scroll/vw teleport/campaign arbitors are faster than chocos for the most part. Of course you'll need to do some assignments/campaign battles for notes, but they are way easy solo now if you're above 75.
Do you need to have anything completed to have access to chocos in the past? I've only been to windy and can't recall seeing anywhere to rent 1.
Hey guys!
I have some questions about SE account service.
1. Why can't I purchase a World Transfer, it just won't let me? Tells me "Can't be used"?
2. How come I can't link my PlayOnline with my SE so I can post on the SE official forums? It gives me some error
From what you're saying above you can't world transfer because your POL account isn't attached to your SE account. So effectively it's saying 'wtf - you haven't got anything TO transfer'.
You need to add your POL account to your SE account. Details are here http://www.playonline.com/homeus/polshift/
Contact PlayOnline support. You likely have that PlayOnline ID linked to another Square Enix account and forgot about it.
I just logged in for the first time in 2 years - they hadn't raised the cap to 99 yet when I quit after something like 8 years. Now, I come back, and I don't see a lot of people I know, evidently they broke the game with these new weapons (though I'd be shocked if they don't have some upgrade down the road for Emp/relic/mythic to remain on top and higher magian trials (I was going for the NQ ukko's fury GA when I quit - and now it's - for now - nothing compared to the newer stuff).
Problem is...now I'm stuck at 95 because everyone did their level cap raise to 99 while I was away and I don't know anyone anymore who'd help - nor do I have a ton of time in my life right now for scheduled LS activities (work full time and school full time). Not really sure what to do so I end up running around Adouline finding random quests to raise my fame. This is why I quit in the first place. Boredom and lack of time.
This honestly puts you in a good position, not a bad one. You haven't invested the time, effort, and money into a completed Empyrean, and can benefit from acquiring a Delve weapon, which is comparatively much easier to do.
There are still a large amount of causal Linkshells out there. In fact, they surely significantly outnumber established endgame Linkshells at this point. Start /shouting for a pearl to a casual, helpful group, or look for /shouts (which you can even do while you're away and/or at work via FFXIAH's main page). It would be surprising if you didn't find one.Originally Posted by Whitney

Things I've completed:
Abyssea
Finished Jeuno VwNM
Main Jobs: THF WHM
Information I'm interested in.
What's the end game of Seekers like?
What are the best in slot items for thief now?
What should I do first?
1. Instanced alliance content that is challenging but not the old Absolute Virtue tier of ridiculous. You might like it or hate it.
2. I don't know, but everything from SoA generally blows the old items out of the water. Not always but often. A lot of SoA gear is getting changed next update also.
3. Trade a stack of light or dark crystals/clusters to the waypoint in Lower Jeuno if you can, then initiate the SoA access quest. Go do it then waypoint to Adoulin. Find your way to the city traveling north and east ish. After you look around go toE-8 Western Adoulin in the Pioneer's Coalition and talk to Brenan to get your badge and some Bayld. Then go to G-7 into the Courier's Coalition and buy "warp runes" from the female elvaan to the left of the door. Next go to Eastern Adoulin F-9 in the Scouts Coalition and buy the maps you can afford from Sifa Alani. Start exploring and activate any waypoints you find.
First thing you should do is start SoA missions to begin getting Imprimaturs and using them up when they refresh for bayld and to get progress going for Dinner Invite (so you can do WK revie), if you haven't done that yet. Also start doing a lot of SoA quests. Beyond that, you should start gearing up your WHM to a decent level if you want a realistic chance of getting into a Delve slot.
The sticky in the Thief forums on FFXIAH should give you a good idea on what to aim for on THF.
Hey!
Just returned to FFXI the other day. I quit shortly after WotG was released. 75 SAM on Shiva (formerly Alexander). Name is Aomakigami.
I have no friends and it would be cool if I could join someone's shell. I've shouted a few times inquiring about joining someone's social shell but to no avail. I started the Abyssea / Voidwatch timers and have a stone. I visited Abyssea but was ejected before I could join a worm party.
So I never quite finished getting all the Abyssea gear I needed and I haven't really played since Adoulin was released. Is there any reason for me to finish my Empy +2 sets, or should I just get with plasma farming? I have NIN, THF, MNK, etc., and a WHM second account (and even access to a BLM third account), so there's nothing I can't box in Abyssea, but I'd just as well save time if I'm just going to replace it easily anyway.
What I'm asking really is more along the lines of tier-progression - will I need to at least be maxed out in Abyssea to be effective in Adoulin content? (I'm not asking anyone to do my homework with Abyssea gear I'll be keeping situationally for this or that, not that I would mind.)
Is there a seekers of adoulin to-do-list somewhere? Similar to the old list of things to do after entering Abyssea guides?
I just bought the bundle and get my beret/chocobo shirt... I'm on Shiva. I would love a helping hand to guide me though.
For WHM you're going to need EAF. For THF you're going to need some of it. I can't comment on MNK but I'd imagine from gearing my alt's NIN that you're going to want a couple of pieces from that set too. It will depend on what gear you already have.... There will be some relic +2 pieces, some bayld armour, some Salvage v2 and Neo Nyzul Isle stuff which will all help depending on who you have around to play with. I'd look at the bayld armour first as it's relatively easy to get, then your EAF. NNI + Salvage v2 stuff should be considered if you have a good group.
There are some pieces that are very important, but many have been outdated. If you can list which jobs you are wanting gear for, I can answer this properly.
Greetings! I used to play FFXI years back but the account was lost (plus, I never went past level 50 since I couldn't stay with one job for too long) and since then I've grown up and gotten married. My wife played the trial for a night and is hooked so we decided to buy two digital copies of the FFXI Ultimate Collector's off of Amazon, (randomly) chose the world Asura, Region of Bastok, and started our jobs. She's determined to play a BLM and I'm open to anything at this point. I'm playing THF until further notice since, well, Treasure Hunter will always have a use. I have a few questions !(note we don't even have 1000 gil between us nor a job above level 12)
#1) Duoing for EXP? I tried to do it between 1-5 and the "new" 200 exp a kill for an EM quickly dropped down to something pathetic. Is that common?
#2) BLM + ??? for a duo? What is a good complementing job? Note: I only have the standard jobs until we hit 30, but don't mind leveling up something else.
#3) Gil. I'm saving beehive chips and crystals but is there anything else to make a decent chunk of change to help us with the 1-30 gear? Note: I'm down for farming and even some low-level crafting if anything's worth a damn. (If you tell me to go check FFXIAH I will humbly go do my own research.)
I have read the guides and will keep sifting through posts here (AWESOME forums and BG-Wiki is helpful too) but figured I'd post in case someone wanted to spoon feed me a few things since I'm also trying to keep my wife afloat too.
Respectfully,
Grayn of Asura.
