Have a question about getting i119 relics. You get your relic from dynamis the original way then do your trials up until 99 mandau. Do you have to do the trial that requires 250 umbral marrows also? Or do you just need the initial lvl 99 relic? From there you get 300 plutons and trade it to Oboro?

I want to farm Alexandrite, and the fact that the HQ bosses at the end of each one is guaranteed to drop a linen coinpurse caught my attention. if you want to solo those zones you should first get some ilvl gear and weapons, otherwise you will die fast. eminent gear and weapons should work fine

Hey guys, i was looking into getting back into ffxi. I havent played since mid 2008, a lil time after WoTG after all the ToA content sat in with the players. still 75 cap. I've completely lost my character so i'd be having to start fresh..

I just had a few questions, i really hope you guys can help!!

1. Which server is the most populated? I used to play on fenrir, which at the time was quite populated with a really big Ballista scene. I was hoping to go back there, but if it's a wasteland i wont waste my time!

2. I understand some jobs arent needed as much as others, I was hoping to play RUN and/or BLU. I have 5-6 hours daily to play and 8-12 on weekends, so i feel if i were dedicated, i could level either of these jobs quickly. how needed are they, or would it be a waste of time?

3. for earlier levels, how important has gil become? when i began playing (around NA release) it was NOT a fun time earning gil at low levels, it came slowly and in low amounts. will i have trouble finding parties and the such?

Just 99 version. You can also upgrade the Afterglow version and I believe it keeps any progress if you're on that trial, or you can Afterglow the 119 version. You'll also need one of the following wins on top of the 99 relic and 300 plutons: a Normal or higher AA win, a Difficult or higher SKCNM20 win, or a delve boss win. After that talk to Oboro with the weapon equiped and then trade the weapon + plutons.

a lot of jobs can solo arrapago remnants II pretty easily with at least 117 gear - i have a few mnk/dnc mules with full espial/wayfarer that can solo it

What's the go to leveling method? Is it still gusgen from 12-30 and then abyssea parties after that? Do many people still do abyssea?

Yeah, basically. But with trusts now you can solo in Gusgen from about 15~ (skeletons are 16-17, so if you have gear maybe 13-14 on some jobs) and you can effectively GoV in a number of zones with trusts and level quickly enough. Never as fast as abyssea, but it's not always easy getting in to key/leech in an abyssea party. And you get the added bonus of skilling up while leveling via trusts.

1. Fenrir looks to be middle of the road at best.

2. Neither would be a job to level in order to get into pickup group content, except Voidwatch on BLU. Could be different for an established group/LS. BLU is a great job to use for older or soloable content though. I don't doubt you'd find a use for it, even if it's not for group stuff.

3. It isn't important, since XP is more or less GoV with Trusts or leeching/Abyssea. So either you're soloing EP-DCs, and nobody cares, or you're unable to contribute anyway, other than possibly keying crates. XP is also so fast now that there's little market for low/mid level gear. Even if you have gil, there's often nothing up on the AH to buy until higher levels.

Yea, after looking around on the FFXIAH forums a bit too, I gave AR2 a shot. My first run, I was short of killing the Armored Chariot in time by like a matter of seconds. On the second run though the next day, since I was actually more familiar with what I was doing, I made a few changes and was able to kill it with 30 seconds or so to spare. Double linen coinpurse drop, and a 200 overall yield. Definitely better than doing old SSR.

See Fievel's post, but one thing worth adding is that Coalition Assignments, particularly Couriers, are a huge chunk of bonus experience for not much work other than the time spent grinding them up, and the bayld you'll get along the way will be pretty much all you'll ever need unless you're going to play GEO or RUN. Very much worth your while, especially since the work involved is just unlocking travel points you're going to be doing anyway.

I'd say if you can't get an Abyssea group at any given time, the best way would be pull out Trusts and do the requisite 30 Daily Kills RoE and whatever timed RoE event is up, run Couriers, and then whatever.

Non Ryu here, but basically Drakes is still a joke, and Camlann's became good. Considering the skillchain properties, there are several cases where you're better off spamming it instead of Stardiver and get Light's.
(I *think* pretty much the same is true for Ryu owners, but don't quote me on that)

Yes, item level was introduced since the launch of SoA in early 2013, but that time the item level tag was not "visible" and there were no combat skills on weapons and armours. But yet, people have been farming Delve I 5NM+Boss days and nights using those gears.
But personally, I consider the "real" item level was in the August 2013 update. In that update, they make the item level tag visible and addition of combat skills as well as adjustment of pet level with item level gears.
