New or Returning Players Discussion 2: SoA Homeless Veterans Edition

Helping some super noob friends levelling up 1-30 (maybe even more).
Anybody had to do that recently and can suggest me how to maximize efficiency?
For instance: should I powerlevel them from outside the party as they use the bunch of trust they have? Should I join their party, level sync and use the large selection of trusts I have?
Also: which zones/GoV/FoV do you suggest to follow?

If they want to level for real, I honestly wouldn't bother. Between higher base XP, FoV, RoE, XP rings or bonuses, etc, they can basically follow the zones outside whatever city they start in (I pretty much always did Saruta->Tahrongi->Buburimu).

If you want to powerlevel them, then just have them to get to 10 and either head to a nice GoV or to Seekers areas. Offhand, 10 is high enough that they should still get XP with a level 99 in the party. For GoV, all they need is to get XP at all, and it counts to finish the objective. Another good one for this is the Cnest donut. The high level mobs down there don't aggro (elementals will, if there's weather, but they're low level), and there's a high density of them with a couple objectives that work, depending on which side you focus on.

You can also just go to Seekers areas, or keep that mind for later. Base XP is high enough there that, even after being reduced, it can still be decent for someone leeching.

Either of those will likely remain a better way to XP, for relatively short sessions, than having you cleave in Abyssea or something (a full XP alliance is different, I mean for leeching off of a single high level).

Uhm... I was forgetting that for the Gusgen GoV you kinda need to keep your level close to 12, no higher than 18ish, or exp starts to really slow down.
It works when you're in a party/alliance and keep inviting people to sync to, but they're just 2, max 3 players, maybe it wouldn't work that well after all.

I could try Adoulin areas I guess, like if there's a nice repetitive trial like gain EXP, or get seals or kill beasts/lizards and stuff like that, and I could go in a zone where I can kill such targets fast. Hnnnn.
Supposing I go the "GoV/FoV" route, where do you suggest me to go? Back when I had to level my mule a couple of years ago I was doing leeches in Bostanieux Obliette, keeping my mule at the book, but it was kinda slow compared to nowadays' standards.
Any other FoV/GoV you can suggest me to do?

If you're only trying to get people to 30+ for Abyssea you can do Korroloka really early on. Page 1 is suggested 20+ but with Trusts and/or more people easily before and it goes to ~33. You can start page 4 before page 1 craps out and won't even be GoV repeat capped and get to 43 or so. I recently soloed with Trusts and no outside help from 17-33 in under an hour, 33-43 probably about an hour. Korroloka has the added benefit of having a weird RoE oversight in that it gives 600 exp for 10 mobs even though it's a dungeon. It's not much, but a bonus 60 exp per mob is ok.

Considering exp rings just got a huge boost and Empress Band is now +15k exp you could easily get from teens to subjob capped on just a few charges. Just remembered my recent Korroloka bout was during double exp, but I didn't use exp rings, so there's that.

If you're doing the SoA high level mob full on RoE power leveling like Isiolia mentioned you'd go way faster, but solo is way easy in Korroloka.

what isola menioned is very feasable. i would get them to lvl 30 tough. abyssea lvling wastes so much time on getting lights up that you can easy compensate that time by cleaving in SoA areas.

https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Category:Trust has the requirements. Collecting them varies, as there are some basic ones you're handed, some that take quest/mission progress, and a lot more that aren't available all the time.

You want to grab most/all you can, since the AI on them varies even if the job is the same.

Outside of passive effects they might have, they don't do shit if you aren't engaged and hitting a mob. While the benefits of ones like Sakura or Moogle might seem weak next to a full party member, their aura effects work no matter what, and they won't get AoE'ed to death. So, they can be appealing on those merits.

You can use /returntrust <name> or "all" to dismiss them (can also just target and type /returntrust ). While you can't usually resummon in combat (I think reives are an exception now? or just WKR?), it can be a quick way to refill HP/MP between mobs, or to swap between benefits. Summon one healer that'll Prot/Shell for a fight, then swap to one that'll Haste reliably for instance.

Just go to Boyada Tree or any of those zones that have had high level mobs added. You can have him get the book page for them and he'll get exp even at level 1.

Tried to mine one up in sih w/e today and the first two mining points I came across disappeared when I touched them. 3rd broke like 10 axes on 15 swings and gave me like 2 pebbles.

What gives?

Did they change mining or something? Being cockblocked trying to upgrade my first piece of relic to 109 since I need a yellow mouton and they are never on sale and neither are orpinements.

Tried to mine one up in sih w/e today and the first two mining points I came across disappeared when I touched them. 3rd broke like 10 axes on 15 swings and gave me like 2 pebbles.

What gives?

The mining points automatically move after a certain amount of time in Adoulin so you'll have to run around finding them often. Regular and adoulin mining gear and KI help a lot to prevent breaks and nothings. Really you're probably better off just using NQ relic and buying/farming 200 coins or buying 50 hopes to upgrade to +2 than dealing with the other crap to make it +1 then +2 then dynamis 20k exp. just to save some chapters.

You will barely get anything mining in Adoulin without the pioneering KI and gear. Also use the trailblazing pick/axe/sickle.
